On Saturday, October 23, Walgreens Pharmacy in Schodack participated in the Drug Take-Back Program in conjunction with the Rensselaer County District Attorney Mary Pat Donnelly, Rensselaer County Sheriff, and Schodack Police Department. Children could meet Batman, get a safety ID card, see a firetruck from the Castleton Fire Department and participate in a trunk or treat. During the last program day in April 2021, eight garbage bags of drugs were taken back. According to manager Renee Coon, she is happy to have her store participate in the program because it’s a good thing to do for the community.
