KFC Comes to Roost

September 16, 2022 By Eastwick Press

by Doug La Rocque
Kentucky Fried Chicken opened its fifth restaurant in the greater Capital Region on Tuesday morning, September 15 at 668 Hoosick Road, next to Planet Fitness. The Grand Opening included a “Free Chicken for a Year” gift card for the first 50 customers through the door. (They did not last long). Owned by KBP Brands, this new eatery plans to hire 50+ new team members and offers what they label as competitive wages, benefits, flexible schedules, and scholarship opportunities. Those interested can apply at www.KFC.com/careers.

The store is the first of four retail or restaurant establishments planned to be built on either side of the Planet Fitness building.

Hannaford Is Next
KFC is not the only business conducting a Grand Opening this week. Across the street from KFC on Lord Avenue, Hannaford has scheduled their own ceremonies for late Friday afternoon with the 50,000 square foot grocery store placing a sign out front that  says customers are welcome starting Saturday morning, September 17, beginning at 6 am.
