Berlin’s High School Band, conducted by Mrs. Gould, and the High School Chorus led by Mrs. Eliashuk performed a rousing selection of patriotic songs, one of which was the Armed Forces Medley, a collection of the official songs from the branches of service in the United States Armed Forces. Mrs. Gould asked the veterans in attendance to please stand during their branch of service’s song.
A video put together by the High School Supertroopers and their advisors Mr. Viner and Mr. Gould was played to highlight the importance of honoring our veterans and to thank them for their service.
BES Principal Kent, Assistant Principal Cataldo, and the BES Character Education team held an assembly with the theme of gratitude focused on Veterans Day.
Doug Griswold, Daryl Maxon, Ryan Samś, School Resource Officer Deputy Austin McGuire, and Rensselaer County Undersheriff P.J. Higgitt, Jr. were the special guest veterans in attendance. The veterans were presented with cards created by the Mountaineers to show their appreciation for their sacrifice and services.
The assembly also included a slideshow of photos submitted by the BCSD community of Veterans which the BES Mountaineers cheered along to as it played.
