In accord with the President’s Veterans Day Proclamation encouraging all Americans to recognize the valor and sacrifice of our veterans through appropriate public ceremonies and private prayers, the Veterans of Stephentown invite everyone to attend a Memorial Service on Saturday, November 12, at the Veterans Park in Stephentown. The service starts at 11 am. Guest speaker will be Rensselaer County Executive Kathleen Jimino.
Benefit Supper For Afton Redick
There will be an all you can eat Spaghetti Supper Benefit from 4 to 7 pm on Saturday, November 19, at the Berlin Firehouse. Proceeds will help to defray medical expenses resulting from a traumatic head injury to 2007 Berlin Central School graduate Afton Redick. The cost is $8 for adults, $5 for children.

Locks Of Love In Grafton
Adrianna Maxfield, eight years old, daughter of Scott and Nadine Maxfield, donated 12 inches of hair to Locks of Love for the second time on Wednesday, October 26. Adrianna, a student at the Berlin Elementary School, wanted to donate her hair to help other kids and to honor those in her family who have passed away.

Lady Panthers Are Section II Champions

Jordan Haynes scored in the first half for HFCS assisted by Meg McKee. Mechanicville tied the game in the second half. The game went into OT and then sudden death OT, which is two 5 minute periods. Jordan Haynes scored with an assist by Grace Delurey in the second sudden death OT. Everyone gave 110%, and the defense had an amazing performance. Regional play will be this Saturday in Messena.
Mountaineer Boys XC Takes Section II, Class D Runner-Up

The Berlin boys cross country team took second place in Class D at the Section II Cross Country Championships on Friday, November 4, at Saratoga State Park. Alex French led the way for Berlin with a 10th place finish in 17:14. The Mountaineers packed their next seven runners into a 22 second span, finishing from 14th place to 23rd place to secure second place as a team in the race.
