BCS Art Show On Wednesday

The Berlin Middle/High School is hosting a big End-of-the-School-Year Art Show on Wednesday, June 8, from 6 to 8 pm. It is open to families, students and the community. Admission is free. Please come enjoy refreshments while viewing all of the wonderful artwork that was produced this year by our talented middle school and high school artists.

Informational Meeting On Italy Trip

There will be an informational meeting for the parents of Berlin students interested in going to Italy over break in February 2012. The meeting will be held at the Berlin MS/HS on June 9 at 7 pm in the library. We will be presenting the details of the trip, discussing possible fund-raising opportunities and will answer any questions or address any concerns you may have at that time. Any students interested in going on the trip should attend the meeting before signing up for the trip.

The Lillis Bunce Memorial Award Goes To Jamie Weir

Jamie Weir will receive the award given annually to a Grafton resident who is a junior in high school and has practiced community service in one of the following areas – library/literacy, gardening/environmental or civic organizations.

The Stephentown Historical Society Lets Loose The Dogs Of War

Robert W. Arnold III will present a talk, “Let Loose the Dogs of War: New York in the American Civil War,” on June 6, to the Stephentown Historical Society. The meeting will be at 7:30 pm at the Stephentown Heritage Center on Garfield Road, Stephentown. This Speakers in the Humanities event, which is free and open to the public, is made possible through the support of the New York Council for the Humanities, a State affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. Blacksmith Workshop At The Grafton Library

The Grafton Community Library is hosting an exciting introductory blacksmithing class for students with no prior experience. Our instructor is Ron Bakerian, assisted by Tim Holt. Bakerian began working in the forge as a practical approach to tool making for large scale woodwork which then developed into decorative and functional hand forged ironwork.
