HF Boys Soccer Loses To Schuylerville

Both the Panthers and the Schuylerville Horses started off strong with equal opportunities to put the ball in the back of the net.   Hoosick Falls’ Chris LaCroix had several break-aways down the sideline only to get stopped by the strong Schuylerville defense.  About 20 minutes into the first half, Schuylerville’s #10, Patrick Cassle, scored to put the Horses up 1-0.  Not long after that they followed with two more goals. One from Andrew Ethier, who finished a loose ball in the box, and one from Raul Mejia, who scored off a free kick only several yards outside the 18 yard box.

Petersburgh Square Dancing

The Petersburgh Sunshine Seniors are pleased to announce that they will be bringing square dancing back to Petersburgh.  Square dancing had been a tradition in the Memorial Hall for many years. Now, thanks to Floyd Smith and his friends, the opportunity to revive this American tradition in Petersburgh has returned. The dance will be held Saturday, October 16, at 7 pm.

The First Irish Open Crazy Pin Golf Scramble

The Hoosick Falls Country Club will play host on Saturday, October 2, to the First Annual Irish Open Crazy Pin Golf Scramble with a shotgun start at 10 am. The entry fee is $50.
Come join the fun with the crazy pin locations, prizes and food. The event is a benefit for the Hoosick Falls St. Patrick’s Parade and Irish Festival.

The Annual Republican Golf Tournament

The Town of Hoosick Republican Party will host its annual golf tournament on Sunday, September 26, at the Hoosick Falls Country Club with an 8:30 am shotgun start. The tournament will be a four man scramble format with 18 holes. Lunch will be served and several prizes will be awarded.  You can win $20,000 with a hole-in-one.

Gordon At Library

Assemblyman Tim Gordon will make a stop on his Hometown Tour at the New Lebanon Library on Thursday, September 23, from 11 am to 1 pm. This is an opportunity for members of the community to share their views and concerns with him.

Family Dance Benefit

Friends of Kevin, Theresa and Dalton Stevens are hosting a Family Dance on Friday, September 17, from 7 to 11 pm at the Berlin Fire Hall with music provided by Hill Hollow Band. There will be 50/50 and silent auctions. Refreshments will also be for sale. Tickets cost $5 for singles, $8 for couples and $12 for families. Tickets are available at the door.
