On Saturday March 27, Rensselaer County’s finest student musicians performed at the Berlin High School. The annual Rensselaer All-County Concert, which had representatives from thirteen area schools, featured an elementary band, junior chorus, jazz chorus and senior band.  For hundreds of yards, both sides of Route 22 were lined with vehicles. The air was chilly, but the bright sun sparkled on the new pennies tossed in the air by members of the Hoosick Lions Club on Saturday, March 27. The Easter Bunny attended the event and was greeted with lots of hugs, posing for pictures with several youngsters. This was the 53rd annual Penny Hunt sponsored by the Club. Grandparents remember bringing their children to the event and now they watch their grandchildren participate in it. Great fun!

Letter To The Editor – A Personal Response

April 2, 2010 By eastwickpress

To the Editor:
This letter is a personal response to Lenore Humphrey’s March 26th Letter to the Editor.  Her Letter was an attempt at character assassination, full of innuendo and misleading statements.  So let’s set the record straight.  Clearly, she believes her ancestry dating back over 200 years to the Petersburgh area entitles her to a position of community respect, while others more recent to the area (called newbies by Ms. Humphrey) are advised to keep their wallets open and mouths shut.  I respectfully disagree.
