The Hoosick Fire District held its Organizational meeting January 21 at 6:30 pm at the Hoosick Fire Station. Fire Commissioners are Robert Breese – Chairman, Jim Dunigan, Roy Hand, Charlie Williams, Wallace Hall and District Treasurer Shari Hand. The Official Bank is KeyBank. The Official Newspaper is The Eastwick Press. The Recording Secretary is Charity King.
Monthly meetings are held the third Thursday at the Hoosick Fire Station located on South Street, Hoosick.

As a banker with over 20 years of experience, I’ve spent my career analyzing financial statements and business plans of companies and non-profit organizations. My professional experience tells me savvy, financially stable organizations tend to plan for their long term financial futures, while less sophisticated and less disciplined organizations tend to focus their efforts on annual budgets and current problems. HFCS Bowlers Win Adirondack League; Finish Second At Sectionals
On Monday, February 8, the Hoosick Falls bowling team placed second at the Section II C-D Bowling Tournament held at Boulevard Lanes in Schenectady. Mechanicville finished first with a six game total of 5,968 followed by Hoosick Falls – 5,905, Berne-Knox Westerlo – 5,582, Middleburgh – 5,538, Stillwater – 5,347 and Mayfield – 5,320.

Panthers Send Five To Section II Finals

In the Class C wrestling Sectionals at Granville on Saturday, Hoosick Falls finished ninth out of thirteen teams in the tournament. While that may not appear to be a great achievement, it should be noted that the Panthers are sending five individual wrestlers on to compete in the Section II Championships this Friday and Saturday, February 12 ad 13, at the Glens Falls Civic Center.

Panther Boys Hoop Team Gets By Greenwich

Second Half Tiger Surge Slams Door On Berlin

While the Berlin boys basketball team has struggled to put together any success this season, their rival New Lebanon Tigers have seemed to finally find their way in the Central Hudson Valley League. With just three games remaining, the Tigers were tied for the top spot entering Monday night’s game with Berlin. As always with these two teams, standings were meaningless as the long time rivals began to do battle.
