It was booster night and hot dog roast at Hoosick Grange on August 13. Families and guests had been invited, and we had a good turnout. Everyone enjoyed the dinner with corn on the cob. After the delicious meal, the Bingo Game was set up. They had lots of prizes and lots of happy winners. After the games the Lecturer had a reading about a little boy who wanted a brother and what he did about getting one. She also had a story on mud time and about getting stuck in the mud. She had a closing poem titled “Kindness.”

Our next meeting is Election of Officers on August 27. Betty Kipp is in charge of the program and Marion Brenenstuhl is in charge of refreshments. The CFA committee was in charge of the dinner for the evening.

Fourth Generation Pastor AT Landmark Baptist

August 22, 2008 By eastwickpress

When Jonathan Matson got a job as a butcher at Price Chopper his father, Pastor Scott Matson of the Rensselaer County Landmark Baptist Church in Berlin, dubbed him “my butcher boy.” It could be worse. The second boy, Matthew, has a fine mop of blond hair and his father calls him “my needs a hair cut boy.” But when the Pastor’s away, the butcher boy will play pastor. Here Jonathan is seen leading the church service for the visiting pastor.

Ironically, Jonathan had just made the decision to enter Bethany Bible College in Essex, New Brunswick. When Jonathan enters the ministry he will be a fourth generation Matson to do so.
