The September meeting of the Taconic Valley Historical Society of Petersburgh and Berlin will be on the Cottage Industries of the Taconic Valley. Everyone is invited to bring stories and pictures to share of the in-home family businesses that their parents, grandparents or great-grandparents ran to make that extra income for the family. The meeting will be held Monday, September 19 at 7:30 pm, Berlin First Baptist Church Fellowship Hall, 15 North Main St., Berlin and is open to the public free of charge. You do not have to be a member to attend. Refreshments will be served.

A 9/11 Memorial Parade and Service was held on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in Hoosick Falls. A parade began at the Hoosick Falls Firehouse, went down Main Street and ended at Wood Park. The parade consisted of area first responders and their equipment, Boy and Girl Scouts, bagpipers, clergy, politicians, American Legion members and community band members. There were about 15 emergency vehicles in the parade from all around the area. First responders traveled from as far away as West Sand Lake.
