On Saturday, March 12, The Village of Hoosick Falls will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day and the 25th Anniversary of the Hoosick Falls St. Patrick’s Day Parade.
Twenty-five years ago, local Irishmen Mike Conway and TJ Carmody wanted to find a way to keep the Irish Culture and History alive in the Hoosick area, and decided that a parade was the ticket!

Farmland Protection Grant Workshops Offered To Local Farmers
Four upcoming informational sessions, free and open to the public, are being held so that local farmers may learn more about the state Purchase of Development Rights (PDR) grants. The workshops will discuss the parameters of the state program so farmers can determine whether it might be suitable for their farms and how to apply for funding. A meeting is scheduled for March 15 from 7 to 9 pm, at the Stephentown Fire Hall (35 Grange Hall Road, Stephentown) to discuss restoration of free-flowing tributaries to the Hudson River. Periodic grant assistance has been made to remove old dams and re-install culverts to allow fish passage.
