Hoosick’s Learn-to-Skate Program Registration On January 9

The Hoosick Friends of Skating Club has now become the Town of Hoosick Learn-to-Skate Program, under the direction of Kaila Matatt and the Town of Hoosick.

Skating lesson registration is on Saturday, January 9, 2016 from 9 am to 1 pm at the Reynolds-Gilchrest Skating Rink on Barton Avenue in Hoosick Falls.

The program offers eight half-hour lessons in figure and hockey skating fundamentals following the United States Figure Skating Association’s Basic Skills Program. Individuals must be five years of age or older as of January 1, 2016 in order to participate.  Classes will be held Saturday mornings and Wednesday evenings, beginning January 16, and continuing until February 10.

The cost for all eight lessons is $50 for Town of Hoosick residents and $60 for non-residents.  Payment is due at registration.  There will be a $10 discount for families with three or more registrants. A $10 late fee will be charged for all registrations after January 16.

Bowlers Win Again

Ladies Win Two

HF 40 – Stillwater 25 at Stillwater, 12/18, HF (O) 4-1, (L) 4-0. After taking a slim 19 – 15 halftime lead, the Panther defense stepped up its game and held the Warriors to a total of six second half points. Take The Plunge! Registration Open for Polar Plunge at Grafton Lakes State Park

Jimino: County Completes Another Successful Coats For Kids Program

Rensselaer County Executive Kathleen M. Jimino has announced the results of this year’s Coats for Kids program that distributed 562 new coats to children throughout the County. The annual program is administered by the Department for Youth and relies upon a summertime golf outing supported by local businesses to raise the funds to purchase the new coats.
