What’s Happening At Stephentown Memorial Library?

Story Time – Fridays at 10 am.  Calling all preschoolers (and their caregivers)! Join us each Friday for some story time fun! In this half-hour session, we read aloud, sing songs, move about, and explore the world around us through literature. Parents and children are encouraged to stay after story time so children have time for free play while grown-ups browse for books and socialize. Story Time is led by Jane Halleck, a local educator. This year’s pizza night fundraiser benefits Berlin students that will be traveling to Costa Rica in April. Besides learning about the history of Costa Rica and its capital San José, students, faculty, and a couple of parents will be spending the week learning about coffee plantations, rainforests, EARTH University, and sustainable farming. Berlin Boys Battle For First Place In League Soccer Play

Heartbreak on the soccer field this past week as the Berlin Mountaineers Boys Squad lost both the game and first place in the Central Hudson Valley League.  The Eagles of Loudonville Christian scored with just over three minutes left to play to break a 1-1 tie.  The victory also gave the Eagles sole possession of first place in the league, with the Mountaineers holding down second.  [Read more…] about Berlin Boys Battle For First Place In League Soccer Play

Pioneer Fish and Game Club, Inc. held its 69th yearly election on September 23 at the Club’s grounds in Potter Hill. Ed Sukuskas was re-elected  as president, as were the rest of the nominees: Rodd Post, vice-president; Gary Sargood, secretary; and Dick Ogden, treasurer.
