Village Working Towards Demolition Of The American House

The Village Board approved a motion to hold a public hearing regarding The American House on Monday, September 28, starting at 6 pm at the Village Hall. The Village has finally gotten a response from the owner of the building; he acknowledged that he did indeed receive a letter from the Village requesting that he or his representative be at the public hearing. Questar III Report On Berlin District Provides Guidance

A presentation by Questar III BOCES of their report on the District’s learning environment was the subject of most of the September meeting of the Berlin School Board last Tuesday.
The study, which began in March 2015, was conducted with the purpose of “maximizing student achievement” in the District, according to Jane King, one of the members from the Questar III team who documented their findings in the District. Stephentown Starts Budget Process

Town Supervisor Larry Eckhardt laid out the schedule for the 2016 Budget at Monday’s Town Board meeting. There will be a public workshop on Monday, October 5 to develop a Preliminary Budget. Discussion will continue at the Board’s regular workshop meeting on Monday, October 12 and at its regular meeting on Monday, October 19. Petersburgh Library Activities

The Petersburgh Public Library story hour continues on Tuesday mornings at 11 am.  All preschoolers and their caregivers are invited to attend.  September concludes Mother Goose month on Tuesday, the 29th with a cat and kitten theme including “Three Little Kittens” and “Hey Diddle, Diddle” and others.  October will feature animals so invite a friend and join us. Hoosick Hullabaloo Promises Fun For All

Electronics Recycling Event October 3

The Rensselaer County Legislature and the County Environmental Management Council will team up to sponsor an electronics recycling day next month, Chair of the Legislature Stan Brownell announced.
