Objections To Tree Cutting Stall Lot Line Adjustment

The Grafton Planning Board held a public hearing on a proposed lot line adjustment on property of Michael and Julie Longo on North Shore Road at Babcock Lake.

Jan Shields, representing Babcock Lake Estates, said the previous subdivision for the purpose of transferring land from the Longos to Sean Nealon had been approved with the understanding that there would be no clearcutting on that land. She said he had cut “almost all the trees.”  Because of this she said she objects to the current lot line adjustment because she does not want to see any more land transferred that would be in danger of more tree cutting. Upcoming Shaker Stone Barn Tours Offer First Chance For Public To Enter In Forty-Three Years

The Shaker Museum Mount Lebanon is hosting guided walking tours inside the massive remains of the North Family Shakers’ Great Stone Barn on Friday, July 31 and Friday, August 7 at 2 pm each day. The tours, which detail the history and current state of the Barn, will leave from the Wash House Visitor Center and Museum Store. This is the first opportunity for the general public to enter inside the structure since a fire destroyed the roof and much of the timber frame 43 years ago. Approximately 140 alumni and guests attended the 34th Annual Walter A Wood Alumni Reunion on Saturday, July 13 at the Pittstown Volunteer Emergency Corp.
