Learn To Make Tamales In Petersburgh

March 12, 2015 By eastwickpress

Everyone is invited to “Learn to Make Tamales” sponsored by the Petersburgh Public Library on Saturday, March 21, from 10 am until noon.  A tamale is a traditional Mesoamerican dish made of masa (a corn meal) which is steamed or boiled in a leaf wrapper.  Adrian Fox Dunn will lead a hands-on demonstration which will be held at the Petersburgh Veterans Community Center.  Please sign up at the Library or by calling 658-2927 during Library hours so that there will be enough for all.

Africa Trip

The Petersburgh Public Library will present Ariel Dunn showing pictures and telling about her three week trip to Africa, her safari and her climb up Mount Kilimanjaro.  She will be talking about how she planned the trip, chose the company and what it was like on the mountain.   She will also be describing her safari, the parks visited and animals seen and just a little about what it was like to be there, her impressions of how people live and how it is different.  She can answer questions on her decision making and assist if someone is interested in going on such a trip.

This program will be held on Wednesday, March 25, at 7 pm at the Library.  Everyone is invited to attend and see another part of the world through photography.
