HFCS Bowlers Win First Match

November 28, 2014 By eastwickpress

by Coach Bob Lang

The Hoosick Falls bowling team defeated Schuylerville, 3-1, in a non-league match for their first match of the season. Hoosick Falls had total match pins of 3,215, and Schuylerville had total match pins of 2,906. Schuylerville is now a member of the Foothills League and has an overall record of 5-7.

Top bowler for Schuylerville was Carter Fritch with a 266-640. Top bowlers for Hoosick Falls were Josh McCart 256-676, Ken Marbot 201-584, Jennifer Sargood 193-556 and Kyla Day 186-519. Other good scores from JV and Exhibition bowlers were William Charbonneau 184-464, Matt Bulson 160-462, James Hynd 152-440 and Meghan Backes 156-426.

“This was a good warmup match to get ready for league play which starts Tuesday, December 2, home, against Hoosic Valley. We won the first two games and then had trouble making spares in the third game and ended up losing that game by 23 pins. The team knows that we have a lot of work to do over the weeks to come, and making spares is one thing that we will have to improve on if we are to be successful,” said Coach Lang.
