The DOT’s Response To Route 7 And Route 22 Problems

In late October County Legislators Stan Brownell and Lester Goodermote, who represent the towns of Stephentown, Berlin, Petersburgh, Grafton, Hoosick and the Village of Hoosick Falls, received letters from the New York State Department of Transportation in response to their concerns forwarded to the DOT in the form of resolutions by the County Legislature. The two concerns the Legislators put forward were the number of truck accidents that have occurred on the portion of NY Route 7 between the Bennington Battlefield Motel and the intersection of Route 7 and Route 22 in the Town of Hoosick and the hazardous condition of the road surface of Route 22 in south Berlin running through Stephentown to the Columbia County border.

25 Years Of Postal Service Excellence In Petersburgh

Cookies For The Marines

Ryan Corbin, a 2009 graduate of HFCS, is a U.S. Marine. He has served in Afghanistan. Many of his buddies are there now. He is not. He is recovering from shoulder surgery. However, his buddies are not forgotten and many of them will receive a taste of home for Christmas.

Give Water – Give Life

Not only will you be able to check things off your list, you can participate in other activities like the Christmas Cookie Contest and help make ornaments for the community tree in the gazebo in Wood Park. 36th Year Miss Olivia’s Students Dance In Professional Nutcracker

Three students from The British School of Ballet in Hoosick Falls auditioned for parts in the Christmas ballet The Nutcracker. All the girls received parts. Over 200 students from different ballet schools auditioned and about 40 students were chosen.

Stephentown Christmas Tree Lighting

The public is invited to attend the Stephentown Christmas Lighting celebration at the Veterans Park in Stephentown on Sunday, December 8, starting at 6 pm. Join the caroling and enjoy refreshments afterward at the Fire Hall on Grange Hall Road. The event is sponsored by the Stephentown Seniors and the Veterans of the Stephentown Area.
