A Stolen Truck Crashes On The Taconic Trail, Driver Killed

New York State Police said a truck (semi-tractor) stolen early Wednesday morning from Bellevue Builder’s Supply in Schenectady crashed along Route 2 in Petersburgh, ejecting the driver, who was later pronounced dead at the scene. Mayor Robert Allen highlighted the Village Board meeting on Tuesday, August 8, with the announcement that representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency would be in on Thursday August 10 to tour the Village, the Towns of Hoosick and Pittstown and Rensselaer County owned roads, to see if the damage caused by the July 1 storm meets the qualifications for emergency aid. Past Chief Bill Seel Honored At Petersburgh Fire Department Installation

Sixteen years is a long time to be chief, but that is the number of years Petersburgh’s Bill Seel put in as the top officer of the Petersburgh Volunteer Fire Department.  Bill was first elected chief in 1998 and served until 2003.
