The Hoosick Falls Central School Parent Teacher Association (PTA), a group of involved, caring and committed moms, dads, grandmas, grandpas, teachers, administrators and alumni, is underway with the new school year. The PTA has been active all summer preparing for the year, and they are helping to ease students and teachers back to school at the open houses and other activities.

Charlie Hot Dog Fund Raiser In Petersburgh
The Petersburgh Fire Auxiliary will host one of its annual Charlie Hot Dog Fund Raisers on Friday, September 21, at the Fire House. The sale will begin at 4 pm and last as long as the dogs themselves.
We recognize that we ran out far too quickly at the last sale so this time we’ve doubled the number of dogs we’ve ordered to ensure no one will be disappointed.
The cost is $9 per dozen, $4.50 per ½ dozen or $.75 each. To place your pre-order, call Janet Snyder at 658-3053 or 339-7311 prior to the 21st.

Honoring Ivan And Shirley Wager
The Berlin Board of Fire Commissioners and the Berlin Volunteer Fire Company will honor Ivan and Shirley Wager at an open house for their 50 years of service each to the Fire Company and to the community of Berlin. The Open House is on September 22 from 1 to 4 pm at the Berlin Fire House, 11 Community Avenue, Berlin. No RSVP is required.
September Events At The Stephentown Memorial Library
• Story Time – Wednesdays at 10 am. Calling all preschoolers (and their caregivers)! Join us each Wednesday for some story time fun! In this half hour session, we read aloud, sing songs, move about and explore the world around us through literature. Parents and children are encouraged to stay after story time so children have time for free play while grown-ups browse for books and socialize. Story Time is led by Rebekkah Corbett, a local educator and member of the SML staff.

Antique Bottles In Berlin
Antique bottles will be the topic of discussion at the Taconic Valley Historical Society meeting on Monday, September 17, at 7:30 pm at the Berlin Methodist Church, South Main Street, Berlin. The evening will feature a presentation by Gary Mercer. The programs are free and open to the public. Please join us.
HAYC3 Offers Babysitting Course
HAYC3 is offering a babysitting course for anyone 12 and older. The class will be held on Saturday, October 13, from 10 am to 12 pm at the Youth Center, 115 Church Street, Hoosick Falls.
Participants will discuss basic safety, ideas for fun activities to keep children occupied, what to do in an emergency and other useful tips to make their experience as a babysitter successful and enjoyable.
There is a fee which includes training materials. It is $15 for HAYC3 members and $25 for non-members. Please register in advance by calling HAYC3 at 518-686-9050.
