Pink Fashion Rocks

August 3, 2012 By eastwickpress

by Bea Peterson
Like all the nearby communities, Hoosick and Hoosick Falls residents and businesses are extremely generous. Almost every week or every other week there is one fund raiser or another. And people respond! Most fund raisers are annual events run by the same folks year after year. Pink Fashion Rocks had a different twist. It was run completely by young folks in their late teens and early twenties. They are to be congratulated. They should be congratulated first for continuing the strong community ethic of giving back and secondly for pulling off a successful event.

August 3, 2012 By eastwickpress

by Bea Peterson
Early Tuesday evening, June 19, Hoosick Falls Mayor Matt Monahan, Deputy Mayor Paul Haynes and Trustees Ric DiDonato and David Borge met at the 4th Ward playground to recognize, with plaques, the volunteers who made the community playground possible. Mayor Monahan said he wanted to thank everyone who had any part in making the playground what it is today, from the volunteers who first approached the Village and began the fundraising, to all those who help maintain and improve it. The Mayor said the plaques are the result of a letter he received in March recommending the Village dedicate the playground to Jack and Peg Bakaitis.
