Elizabeth Rathbun Named To The Fall 2011 Dean’s List At UNH

Elizabeth Rathbun of Stephentown has earned Highest Honors for the fall semester of the 2011-2012 academic year at the University of New Hampshire.
Students named to the Dean’s List at the University of New Hampshire have earned recognition through their superior scholastic performance. Highest Honors are awarded to students who earn a semester grade point average of 3.7 or better out of a possible 4.0. Students with a 3.5 to 3.69 average are awarded high honors and students whose grade point average is 3.2 through 3.49 are awarded honors.

Grafton VFD Breakfast

The Grafton Volunteer Fire Department along with the Grafton Ladies Auxiliary will be holding an all you can eat buffet breakfast on Saturday, February 25, from 8 to 11 am at the Grafton VFW – Fire Hall on South Road (County Route 85). Belgian waffles, pancakes, French toast, eggs (made to order), sausage gravy & biscuits, bacon, sausage, home fries, toast, orange juice, coffee and milk are on the menu.
The  cost is $8 per adult, $4 for kids 6 to 12 and free for kids five and under. We look forward to serving you!

Tsatsawassa Fire Company Breakfast

The Tsatsawassa Protective Fire Company will hold its monthly breakfast on Sunday, February 19, with servings from 8 until 11 am at a cost of $6.   Breakfast consists of your choice of French toast or pancakes as well as bacon or sausage, toast, orange juice, applesauce, beverages and eggs prepared to your specifications.
Support your local fire company while visiting with friends and neighbors and enjoying a hearty breakfast to start your day.   The firehouse is located behind the post office near the intersection of Routes 20 and 66 north in the hamlet of Brainard.  For more information, call 518-766-3815.

Animal Tracks And Traces At GLSP

Grafton Lakes State Park is hosting a Winter Recess Program, Animal Tracks and Traces, on Saturday, February 18, at 1 pm. This program will include an introduction to reading the stories left in the snow by fox, deer, rabbits and other forest dwellers along with a short hike. Come dressed for the weather and learn how to track and trace animals found at the Park.

Petersburgh – William Michael Rose, Sr., 54, of Stewart Road, Petersburgh, NY, died on Tuesday evening, February 7, 2012, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Troy, NY, on September 23, 1957, he was the son of the late Irving D. and Mary Alice Morey Rose, Sr. Bill was the loving husband of the former Julia “Vicky” Burdick, whom he married in Pownal, VT, on May 28, 1982.

Hoosick Falls – Frank A. Jones, 52, passed away on February 1, 2012, at Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY. He had resided in Niskayuna and formerly in Hoosick Falls, NY.
Born May 4, 1959, in Bennington, VT, he was the son of Jerry Jones Sr. and the late Beverly (Travis) Jones, who died in 2007. He attended Hoosick Falls Central School.
