Another Successful Mass Food Giveaway in Grafton

Catholic Charities, The Regional Food Bank of Northeastern NY, the Capital District Area Labor Federation, The Rensselaer County District Attorney’s Office, The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation and The Eastwick Press teamed up on Wednesday, November 3 to once again bring Eastern and Central Rensselaer County a mass food giveaway, held at the Grafton Lakes State Park (GLSP). Petersburgh Tax Levy is Up 0.9% in 2022 Budget

A Public Hearing was held on Monday November 1 on Petersburgh’s Preliminary Budget for 2022. A tax levy increase of 0.9% is proposed. This small, under the tax cap increase gives the impression that this might be a rollover budget with only incremental changes, but that is not the case. There are significant increases and significant decreases which more or less cancel each other out. Funding for capital spending is up while funding for secretarial help is down. Troy Farmers Market Returns to the Atrium

The Troy Waterfront Farmers Market returns to the Troy Atrium for the winter this Saturday, November 6. The winter market is held every Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm, and features most of the vendors from its popular outdoor market.

Wildcats Dominate Quarterfinal Game

For the third week in a row the Hoosick Fall-Tamarac Wildcats dominated an opponent. By halftime the Panthers were in change and things were looking good for the JV to in some playing time.

A couple minutes after being helped off the field on the opening kickoff, Dillon Grogan pulled in a pass from quarterback Jake Sparks on their first possession and raced down the sideline for 59 yards and into the endzone to put the Wildcats up 6-0. The extra point was missed.

New Lebanon’s Repair Cafe A Success

The Columbia NE Repair Cafe, held at the Firehouse in New Lebanon on Saturday, October 23, was a smashing success. Ten organizers from the Climate Smart Communities Task Forces of New Lebanon, Austerlitz, Chatham and East Nassau welcomed a steady stream of visitors from as far away as Taghkanic and Albany, and as nearby as up the road in New Lebanon. Dolley Madison Visits Wood Park in Hoosick Falls

Sewers, Chromebooks and Horses Discussed by Hoosick Falls Central School Board

The Hoosick Falls School Board met for their regular monthly meeting on Thursday October 21, the day the building reopened after a sewer line problem had closed the building to students for two days.
