Alyce Florence O’Neill

Hoosick Falls – Alyce Florence O’Neill, 62, a resident of Easy Street in Hoosick Falls, NY, and formerly of Waterbury, CT, passed away on Monday, December 12, 2011, at her home surrounded by her family.
Born in Waterbury on October 9, 1949, Alyce was the daughter of William and Alyce (Bergamo) O’Neill. She attended Crosby High School in Waterbury and earned her GED at the age of thirty-five and was very proud of that achievement. After attending Mattatuck Community College she worked for twenty years as a senior accounting clerk for Osram-Sylvania at their Watertown plant.

Formerly Richard had resided on Congress Street in Hoosick Falls, NY. He was the husband of the late Anita (Albergine) Bump, who died in 2000.

Petersburgh – Neil M. Manchester, 84, lifelong Petersburgh, NY, resident died on Sunday, December 4, 2011, at the Albany Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.
Born July 10, 1927, in Hoosick Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Martin L. and Millicent Vincent Manchester. He was the loving husband of the former Lois Case, whom he married in Hoosick Falls on February 11, 1951. Neil was a member of the Petersburgh Baptist Church.

Phyllis E. Hoffman

Stephentown – Phyllis E. “Curly” Hoffman, 1928-2011, 83, of Route 43, Stephentown, NY, passed away peacefully Tuesday, November 22, 2011, at the Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA.
Born October 29, 1928, in Stephentown, Phyllis graduated from New Lebanon (NY) High School. As a Teacher’s Assistant working at the Stephentown Elementary School, she encouraged and assisted many students. Phyllis served the community in the Stephentown Volunteer Fire Department as a “Fire Belle.” She was a longtime fan of the Philadelphia Phillies. “Curly” enjoyed many camping trips to the ocean with her family and gave loving encouragement and support to all of her grandchildren.

Born February 12, 1925, in Troy, NY, he was the son of the late Alexander W. and Florence M. Griswold Crandall. Bob was the loving husband of the former Sylvia R. Grogan, whom he married on November 30, 1950, in the Seventh Day Baptist Church in Berlin, NY. They were residents of Grafton since 1953.

With her sharp mind and keen intellect, she graduated at the top of her class from Burr and Burton Seminary in Manchester in l939.

Hoosick Falls – Eleanor J. (Couch) Greenwood, 83, passed away on Saturday, November 26, at her residence on Rensselaer Street in Hoosick Falls, NY.  She was the wife of the late William J. Greenwood Jr.
Born on November 22, 1928, in Manchester, VT, Eleanor was the daughter of Albert Duncan and Flora (Streeter) Couch. She graduated from Burr & Burton High School in Manchester.  Eleanor worked at the Ben Franklin’s Store in Hoosick Falls before retiring from Woolworth’s in Bennington, VT, after many years of service.
