Elva G. Brenenstuhl

Petersburgh – Elva G. Brenenstuhl, 81, passed away on Friday, July 29, 2011, at the Hoosick Falls Health Center in Hoosick Falls, NY. She had resided at the Village at Fillmore Pond in Bennington, VT, and formerly in Petersburgh, NY.
Born on April 23, 1930, in Cambridge, NY, Elva was the daughter of the late David W. and M. Beatrice (Haswell) Brenenstuhl. She attended the two room school house in North Petersburgh and graduated from Hoosick Falls High School. Elva continued her education at Albany College of Pharmacy where she earned her Bachelor of Science and at the College of St. Rose where she earned her Masters Degree in Science. She worked at the North Adams Hospital in Massachusetts and for United Hospitals of Newark, NJ. Elva later worked at the Samaritan Hospital in Troy, NY, where she held positions of Hematology Supervisor, LIS Coordinator and Lab Supply Coordinator, retiring in 1992. Elva was a member of the North Petersburgh United Methodist Church, where she also served as Treasurer.
Survivors include several cousins and her close friends.
A graveside service is on Friday, August 5, at 2 pm the Maple Grove Cemetery in Hoosick Falls. There are no calling hours. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls.

Clyde H. Tomlinson Jr.

Stephentown – Clyde H. “Tom” Tomlinson Jr., 90, of South Road, Stephentown, NY, died on Sunday, July 31, 2011, at his residence after a long illness. Born in Hoosick Falls, NY, Clyde was the son of the late Clyde H. and Marcia Webster Tomlinson and the husband of the late Thelma Olsen Tomlinson.
Clyde was a lifelong resident of Rensselaer County and had served in the Navy during WW II. Clyde was a meat cutter by trade and had worked for Oneida Markets, Price Chopper, Millers Market in West Sand Lake, NY, and Sykes Store in Stephentown. Clyde was a member of numerous organizations including life member of the Stephentown Historical Society. He was a former member of the American Legion, the Stephentown Fire Company, the Tamarac Twirlers in Brunswick, NY, the Quadrille Square Dance Club in Pittsfield, MA, the Albany Camera Club, the Photographic Society of America and the Berkshire Museum Camera Club. Clyde was a longtime member of the West Stephentown Baptist Church.
Clyde was the brother of the late Helen T. Grady, William C. and John H. Tomlinson.
Survivors include his son, Rev. Trygve C. “Trig”  and wife Becky Tomlinson of Averill Park, NY, his sister, Marcia Tomlinson of Clifton Park, NY, his grandsons, Thaddaeus, Aaron, Isaac and wife Heather and Ethan Tomlinson.
Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Service on Sunday, August 7, at 3 pm at the West Stephentown Baptist Church.
If desired, donations in memory of Clyde H. Tomlinson Jr. may be made to the West Stephentown Baptist Church, 1672 NY 43, West Stephentown, NY, 12168.
Arrangements are by the Perry-Komdat Funeral Chapel Inc. in Averill Park.

Berlin – Marcia E. Jones, 96, of Dyken Pond Road, Berlin, NY, died on Friday, July 22, 2011, at the home of her son after a short illness. A lifelong resident of Berlin, Marcia was the daughter of the late Milan and Lillian Loker Goodermote and wife of the late Robert E. Jones. Marcia had been a resident of Dyken Pond Road since 1964. She was a homemaker and a member of the Berlin Methodist Church.
