John O. Backes

Pittstown – John (Jack) O. Backes, 73, of Pittstown, NY, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 26, 2011.
Jack is pre-deceased by his parents, Lois and Frederick W. Backes II, and his brother, James.  He is survived by his sons, Frederick W. Backes III and wife Kelly and William J. Backes and wife Tracie. Jack is also survived by his lovely granddaughters, Kaitlin, Ailish, Meghan, Jenna and Victoria.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, 70 Main Street, Hoosick Falls, NY, on Saturday, February 5, at 10 am.

He had resided on William Cipperly Road in Breese Hollow, Hoosick, NY. He was the husband of the late Pauline (Gelinas) Cipperly, who died on March 1, 1982. William and Pauline were married in Toms River, NJ, in 1943.

Hoosick – Edward E. LeBarron, 72, passed away on Wednesday, January 19, 2011, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Troy, NY. He had resided in Clifton Park, NY, with his wife Uma (Gomes) LeBarron.
Edward was born on August 14, 1938, at the family residence in Potter Hill, Hoosick, NY. He was the son of the late Leverette and Margaret (Prentess) LeBarron. Edward attended schools in the Town of Hoosick until entering the United States Air Force in 1955. He served until 1959. Edward has been retired for several years.

Sherm loved his wife Marjorie, his wife of 60 years, as celebrated on September 9, 2010, with all his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Eugene And Ruth Kosche

Shaftsbury, VT – Eugene R. “Gene” Kosche, 82, and his wife Ruth S. Kosche, 92, residents of Route 7A, Shaftsbury, VT, died Monday, January 17, 2011, as a result of a structure fire at their residence.
Born in Pittsfield, MA, on May 11, 1918, Ruth was the daughter of the late John F. and Hilda (Hornig) Schumacher.  Also born in Pittsfield, on October 7, 1928, Gene was the son of the late Albert A. and Madeline (Vogel) Kosche. They both received their education in the Pittsfield schools and were graduates of Pittsfield High School.
