Hoosick Falls – Linda Child Evans, 81, of Norwich, died Sunday, September 11, 2022 at Valley View Manor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She is survived by two daughters and two sons-in-law, Kelly and Richard Salinas and Tracy Vaughan and Paul Verrasto; two sons, Joshua and Matthew Clintsman; four granddaughters and one grand son-in-law, Catherine Vaughan Barber and Christopher Barber, Sarah Vaughan, Sophie and Phoebe Salinas; and two sisters, Sally Child Chirlin and Gail Child Szenes.
Born on December 2, 1940, in Norwich, to J.R. “Dick” and Elizabeth “Betty” Child, Linda graduated from Norwich High School and Penn State University. After college she settled with her husband Peter Clintsman in Hoosick Falls, NY, where she taught English in the high school for over three decades. She was a dedicated and creative teacher whose commitment to students extended well beyond the classroom. During her tenure she advised multiple student groups each year, coached girls sports teams, and voluntarily tutored students in a variety of subjects. Hoosick Falls – Edward Ruditis, 80, passed away on Monday, September 12 at the Glens Falls Hospital. He resided on Mechanic Street in Hoosick Falls and was the husband of the late Helen (Jones) Ruditis.
Edward was born on September 12, 1942, in Troy, NY, son of the late Edward J. and Jane (Malinowski) Ruditis. He attended schools in Watervliet and worked on the Town of Hoosick Highway Department until retiring several years ago. He was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls. Berlin – Raymond F. Schaefer, Jr., 69, of Ocala Fla, died peacefully at his home on September 1, 2022, after a long and courageous battle with Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease.
Born in North Adams, MA on May 9, 1953, he was the son of the late Raymond F. and Evelyn Gardner Schaefer Sr. Raised in Berlin, NY, Ray was a 1972 graduate of Berlin Central School. He enlisted in the US Navy Seabees on September 13, 1972 and served 3 years of active duty. Following active duty, he served in the Naval Reserves for 20 years, retiring from the Navy on March 1, 1994. At the end of his active duty in the Navy, Ray began employment at the Watervliet Arsenal in Watervliet, NY, working in manufacturing arms and equipment for the US Army. His kids especially remember seeing pictures of the large cannons made there and knowing that their dad made them. While working at the arsenal, Ray continued his education in the Arsenal Apprenticeship Program, receiving a degree in Metallurgy from Hudson Valley Community College in Troy, NY. Hoosick Falls – Richard “Rick” S. Motsiff, 73, passed away on September 9, 2022. He resided on Saratoga Street in Hoosick Falls. He was born on January 21, 1949, in Hoosick Falls, son of the late Stanley and Zita (Govone) Motsiff.

Hoosick Falls – Patricia J. Marsh, 89, passed away on Tuesday, September 6, 2022 at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, Vermont. She resided on Beechwood Road in Hoosick Falls and was the wife of the late Robert Marsh.
Patricia was born on January 16, 1933 in Hertford, England, daughter of the late Wilfred and Ruby (Phipps) Farnham. She was the longest standing Hoosick Falls Wrestling fan, having attended competitions from 1976-2020. Hoosick – Edwin “Tom” Thomas Webster Sr., 80, passed away on Friday, September 9th, at Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT. He resided in Hoosick, NY, with his wife, Mary Frances (Williams) Webster.
Youngest son of the late Edwin W. and Florence A. (Callahan) Webster, Tom was born on December 23, 1941, in Hoosick Falls. He was educated at Saint Mary’s Academy and Hoosick Falls Central School. Hoosick Falls – Felicia Martelle, 93, passed away on Thursday, September 1, 2022, at the Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls, NY. She resided on First Street in Hoosick Falls and was the wife of the late Richard Martelle who passed away in 2012.
Felicia was born on February 1, 1929, in Belvedere Marttimo, Italy, daughter of the late Luigi and Filomena Grosso. She attended schools in Italy. Felicia joined her husband Richard in the USA in 1950, where they were proud, hardworking members of the community. North Bennington – Janet Lee (Thompson) Hoard, 84, a resident of North Bennington, Vermont, passed away peacefully on August 29th, 2022 following a brief illness.
Born on June 24th, 1938, in Bennington Vermont, she was the daughter of the late Lester and Harriet (Brown) Thompson.
Janet was raised in North Bennington and attended North Bennington high school.
After high school she began a career with the Stanley Tool Company’s factory in Shaftsbury, Vermont. She spent nearly 30 years employed with the company.

Petersburgh – Zachary Ryan Clyde passed away August 18, 2022 at the age of 28. He was born in Stephentown, NY to Claude and Terri Clyde.
Zach was a very compassionate, kind, peaceful, generous, and humble young man. Everyone who met him loved him. He could light up a room while making you feel welcome and loved. Zach loved the outdoors and could always be found partaking in his favorite pastimes, hunting and fishing.
