McKenzie J. Siau – Obituary

McKenzie Joy Siau, 18 months old, passed away on July 17, 2022. McKenzie was born on December 30, 2020 at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse NY. In her short little life, McKenzie could brighten up any room with her big smile, giggle, and dimples. Usually not too far from her momma, McKenzie was quickly becoming her own little person. She loved the family cat, GreyGrey, blueberries, and swinging in big kid swings.

David P. Siau – Obituary

David P. Siau, 39, died July 17, 2022 protecting his family while on vacation. David was born June 25, 1983 in Stamford, Connecticut to John and Melanie Siau, moving to Pompey when David was little. Over the next 21 years, he became the oldest brother to 6 sisters and 3 brothers who he loved. There are many stories of fort constructions, Lego builds, and creek adventures. David began working at Benchmark Media Systems, Inc. when he was just 16. He obtained his Associate Degrees in Electronic Media Communications from Onondaga Community College and Air Traffic Control from Beaver Falls Community College. He received his pilot’s license during his studies at Beaver Falls as well. He continued part time at Benchmark while attending college, and later returned to full-time employment. David has been Benchmark’s Production Manager since 2008. Recently David completed 24 years of service at the age of just 39.

David was quick to listen, slow to anger, and loved deeply. He made marriage easy, and Christy and David just celebrated 10 wonderful years. He had a sincere and helpful soul as he would do anything for anyone. He loved his family, being handy and was often found making his kids’ toys even better. Bruce A. Andrews – Obituary

Hoosick Falls – Bruce A. Andrews, 80, passed away on Monday, August 8, at the Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls. He resided on Ball Street Ext. with his wife Rosemary (Hoag) Andrews.

Bruce was born on June 4, 1942, in Brooklyn, NY, son of the late Kenneth E. and Christine J. (Alderman) Andrews. He was educated at Adams Memorial High School. Bruce worked for many years in the paper industry, retiring as a Quality Control Tech at Crane & Company in Dalton, MA. A loving husband and father, Bruce was known for his gentle nature and playful sense of humor. His greatest enjoyments were the simple pleasures of spending time with family and friends. From an early age, he enjoyed racing pigeons and was a member of the North Adams Pigeon Club for many years. Bruce also enjoyed traveling, raising animals and listening to oldies and country music. Remembering Pat Casale

Former New York State Assemblyman Pat M. Casale passed away Friday, August 5 at his home surrounded by loved ones. Among his many accomplishments were serving in the U.S. Army where he was deployed to the Korean Conflict, becoming a member of the Troy City Council, being elected as Mayor of the City of Troy, serving as Rensselaer County Clerk, and serving the 108th District as a New York State Assemblyman. 

Pat Casale is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Mary, their three children: Daniel (Darlene), Lisa Fane (Donald), and Frank (Carol); ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; younger siblings, Robert Casale (Rosemary), John Casale (Beth), and Kathleen Kindinger (Tom); and many in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Walter A. Brenenstuhl – Obituary

North Petersburgh – Walter A. Brenenstuhl passed from this life, at the age of 90, on Wednesday, August 3 2022.

Walter was born in Albany, NY on February 8, 1932 and was a son of the late Frederick and Gertrude (Rudd) Brenenstuhl. He spent his formative years in North Petersburgh where he was educated in a two room school house. He later graduated from the former Walter Wood High School in Hoosick Falls. Walter worked in the family store known as the Y Store at the intersection of Routes 22 and 346 in North Petersburgh and also worked on the railroad in Petersburgh. He served our nation during the Korean War in the U.S. Navy. He was honorably discharged on April 1, 1955 and returned home to North Petersburgh. Ruth S. Barber – Obituary

Cherry Plain – Ruth Shirley Barber, 95, a longtime resident of Cherry Plain, NY, gained her wings and was reunited with her loving husband, “Tommy,” when she peacefully passed away on July 11, 2022.

Born in Pittsfield, MA, on December 12, 1926, to the late Lester and Harriett (Main) Sime, Ruth was raised on the family farm in Lanesboro, MA, where, as a young girl, she attended a one-room schoolhouse. She later was a graduate of Pittsfield High School. She held fond memories and often spoke of her love of learning and school.  

Other than her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her husband of 54 years, Thomas G. Barber, who died in June 2010, her siblings, Lillian, Robert, Elizabeth and Caleb, a favorite aunt, her husband’s Great-Aunt, Priscilla and a beloved grandson, Joseph Nippes.   [Read more…] about Ruth S. Thomas K. Rose, Jr. – Obituary

Petersburgh – Thomas Kenneth Rose, Jr. (Ken), 92, passed away on Thursday, July 21, 2022. Ken was born on May 14, 1930, in Albany, NY to Violet Ingraham Rose and Thomas Rose, Sr. Ken was a jokester who treasured his family and always gave to those in need. From 1951 to 1953, Ken served as a paratrooper in the 11th 503rd Airborne Division of the United States Army. For 32 years, he worked for the Arsenal in Watervliet, NY, ending his career as a locomotive specialty mechanic. He was a DAV life member, a Star Lodge 670 member, and a member of the Masons. Ronald L. Jacobs – Obituary

Grafton – Ronald L. “Jake” Jacobs of Blueberry Ridge Road died on Thursday, July 21, 2022 at the Stratton VA Medical Center in Albany after a short illness. Born in Hagerstown, MD, Jake was the son of the late Clayton and Juanita Davis Jacobs and husband of Robin Jones Jacobs. Jake grew up and was educated in Hagerstown then entered the Navy in 1965, serving until 1982. He was honorably discharged with a rank of E8 AMCS. In 1986 Jake and Robin moved back to New York where Jake worked in the Construction and carpentry trade with his late brother-in-law, Stewart’s, and Vanderheyden School. Jake was a NASCAR fan of Denny Hamlin and enjoyed camp, baseball, and gardening in his flower and vegetable gardens. Jake was a man with many projects and everybody’s handyman. Alvin W. Hunt – Obituary

Hoosick Falls – Alvin (Al) Wallace Hunt, 80, a resident of Hill Road in Hoosick Falls, passed away July 13, 2022 at his home surrounded by his family. Al was born in Hoosick on November 28, 1941, the son of the late Frederick and Edith Hunt. He attended Hoosick, NY schools, graduating from Hoosick Falls High School class of 1960. Alvin worked as a driver for Peoples Gas & Oil and as a boiler technician for many years at Oak-Mitsui. Upon retirement he worked for Fairdale Farms and drove a bus for Southern Vermont College. David F. Shuhart – Obituary

Berlin – David F. “Pa” Shuhart, 75 died Monday, July 18, 2022 at Southwest Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT. He was born in Hoosick Falls on May 5, 1947, the son of the late Clifton G. “Sonny” Shuhart, Jr. and Jennie F. Wysocki Shuhart. He was raised and educated in Berlin. He was a logger with his father and later worked at Berlin Lumber Company. He was employed for over 32 years by Saint Gobain of Hoosick Falls as a tape machine operator, before retiring in 2012. He was also the owner of Pa’s Country Car Wash on Route 22 in Berlin.  

He was a caretaker for many houses in the Berlin area and also snowplowed for many people.  

He enjoyed camping and NASCAR. In his early years he enjoyed fishing with his grandfather in the Adirondacks. He loved shiny red fire trucks and owned two of them. He also enjoyed driving his convertible.   [Read more…] about David F. Shuhart – Obituary
