Stephentown – LeRoy A. Wolcott, 88, of Stephentown, NY, died on July 15, 2015 at the Van Rensselaer Manor.

Petersburgh – Mark D. Nelsen, 63, died on Wednesday, July 15, 2015 at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls, NY.

Donald J. Morin
Hoosick Falls – Donald J. Morin 78, passed away on Monday July 6, at the Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls. He resided on Wilder Avenue with his wife Gail (Myers) Morin.
Don was born on November 4, 1936 in Bennington, Vermont and graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Hoosick Falls. He was formerly employed at Chem Fab in Bennington. Don liked to play golf, hunt and fish. He also enjoyed his trips with his wife to Las Vegas and Turning Stone Casino. He was a member of the Hoosick Federal Credit Union Board and a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls.
Survivors other than his wife Gail include his aunt Mary Miller of Bennington, several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his mother Eugenia (Jennie) Govone and a brother George Morin. Special thank you to Robert and Nelma Lane of Saratoga Springs, NY, Marilyn Miller of Newington, CT, Debbie Myers, Joyce and Kevin Whalen all of Hoosick Falls.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Friday July 10 at 10 am from the Immaculate Conception Church in Hoosick Falls. Burial followed at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hoosick Falls.
Relatives and friends called at the Funeral Home on Thursday evening. Memorial contributions may be made to either the Junior Golf Program at the Hoosick Falls Country Club or the Karen and Molly McGovern Memorial Fund through the Mahar Funeral Home.
Susan Cornell Roach
Stephentown – Susan Cornell Roach, 68, of 1050 Black River Road in Stephentown, died Monday, June 15, 2015 at Hillcrest Commons in Pittsfield, MA where she had been a patient for two days.
Born March 26, 1947 in Pittsfield, MA, a daughter of the late Wallace E. and Enid Holt Cornell. She was a 1966 graduate of Berlin Central School in Berlin, NY.
She was last employed as a clerk at the Cherry Plain Pantry in Cherry Plain for six years, prior to that she had worked at Sweetbrook Nursing Home in Williamstown, MA for three years.
She enjoyed arts and crafts and her home.
Susan leaves her beloved husband, Jon G. Roach whom she married June 24, 1978, a daughter, Stephanie Baldwin and her husband Timothy of Port Richey, FL, four brothers, David Cornell and his wife Dianne, William Cornell and his wife Susan, Timothy Cornell and his wife Donna, and Gregory Cornell and his wife Laurie, all of Stephentown; a grandson, Alex Baldwin, and several nieces and nephews.
A private memorial service was held June 17 at the Hall and Higgins Funeral Home in Stephentown, NY. There were no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to Hospice Care in the Berkshires, in care of Dery Funeral Home, 54 Bradford Street, Pittsfield, MA 01201, which is handling the arrangements.
Richard L. Keeley
Petersburgh – Richard L. Keeley, 95, died Sunday, July 12, 2015 at the Center for Living & Rehabilitation in Bennington, VT. Born in Geneseo, NY on September 2, 1919, he was the son of the late Captain John M. Keeley, NYSP and Mary McClintock Keeley. He was a graduate of White Plains High School and was a 1943 graduate of Siena College in Loudonville with a degree in Business Administration.
He was employed by Covert Manufacturing in Watervliet briefly and then moved to Petersburgh and went into business with his father-in-law, Thomas Clark, in the operation of Precision Level Vial in Petersburgh until selling the business in 1980. He then worked for John L. Thompson Drug Co. in Troy. He later was employed for 24 years by the New York State Police as an associate budget analyst until retiring in 1985.
Richard was a member the Petersburgh Fire Dept. for over 45 years and served as Chairman of the Board of the Fire Commissioners, member of the Berlin School Board, Petersburgh Rod & Gun Club and enjoyed bowling.
He was the husband of the late Frances Clark Keeley; beloved father of Karen Maxon of Petersburgh, Linda Keeley and Patricia (John) Wright of Waterford and Fr. Issac Keeley of St. Joseph’s Abbey in Spencer, MA; brother of Lawrence W. Keeley of Flower Mound, TX, Jacqulyn Hurley of East Greenbush and the late Herbert, William and Francis Keeley; grandfather of Richard (Sherrie), John and James (Bridget) Maxon, John (Molly) Wright, Thomas (Rachel) Wright and Mary and Robert Wright; great-grandfather of Tyler, Alex and Carter Maxon. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
The funeral Mass will be Monday, July 20 at 11 am at the Sacred Heart Church, 27 Main Street, Berlin. Interment will follow in Meadowlawn Cemetery, Petersburgh. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at Sacred Heart Church on Sunday, July 19 from 3 to 6 pm.

W. Robert Bentley
Berlin – William Robert Bentley was born in Berlin, NY on February 15, 1922, to the late Eva Satterlee Bentley and Arlie Caleb Bentley. Robert, “Bob,” lived almost all his life on the farm which had been in his family since 1769. He passed into eternal life on January 13, 2015, at the Eddy Heritage House in Troy, NY. [private]

Robert Bentley was a dairy farmer and served as president of the United Dairy Cooperative. He was Town Supervisor and a volunteer fireman for the Town he loved, Berlin, NY. As a County Legislator in the early 1960s, he cast the deciding vote to build Hudson Valley Community College.
In 1963, Robert received an environmental award for establishing the first Greenbelt in Rensselaer County. Trout Unlimited was granted permission to improve trout habitat in the Little Hoosick River.
Bob enjoyed reading biographies and was a longtime member of the Berlin Historical Society. He traveled to many countries and states with his family. His wife, Eleanor Garner Bentley, predeceased him.
In 2009, with his daughter, Ann Randall, “Randi,” Bob donated Bentley Cavern to the Northeastern Caving Society.
Bob will be missed by his daughter, nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.
A memorial service will be held at the Seventh Day Baptist Church in Berlin, on Friday, July 3 at 10 am. Robert was a lifetime member and had served as treasurer of that church.
