Grafton – Mildred Reichard King, 95, formerly of Reichard Farm Road in Poestenkill, passed away peacefully on Friday February 13, 2015. Born in Troy, Millie was the daughter of the late Clayton and Esther Reichard. Millie was married in 1940 to the late Henry “Hi” King in the Poestenkill Church of Christ and she was a longtime employee of the New York State Compensation Board. In her spare time she enjoyed gardening, cooking, and baking.

William Klaer
Hoosick Falls – William H. Klaer Sr., 81, passed away on Wednesday February 11, at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls. He was the husband of the late Shirley Klaer who died in 2012.
John (Bub) Haynes
Hoosick Falls – John (Bub) Haynes, 86, of Jacksonville Florida passed away on January 26, 2015, after a courageous battle against lung cancer. Mr. Haynes was born in Hoosick Falls, NY, February 29, 1928 to parents Irving and Elizabeth Fitzgerald Haynes. He went to LaSalle Institute, and graduated from Hoosick Falls Central School, and the University of Florida, Gainsville. He served in the US Navy during WW11.
After his discharge he met his wife, Evelyn while working in Sarasota, FL. In 1966, Mr. Haynes and his family moved to Jacksonville, where he helped found Florida Junior College. He served as first Vice President, then as a psychology professor at South Campus until his retirement in 1993. He was an avid golfer, a passionate Gator fan, constant joker and beloved family man.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Evelyn Freeman Haynes, sons Timothy and Stephen, grandchildren Christopher, Logan, Jeffrey, and Kevin, brothers Robert and wife Noreen and Paul and wife Mary and several nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by two brothers Joseph and William. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or your favorite charity. A memorial service will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery on February 20, 2015.
Richard Whalen
Hoosick Falls – The Honorable Richard “Dick” Patrick Whalen, 75, passed away suddenly on Sunday, February 1, 2015, while on vacation in Arizona with his loving wife of forty-eight years, Joyce (McCarty) Whalen. She resides on Wilder Avenue in Hoosick Falls, NY.
Born on March 22, 1939, in Hoosick Falls, Dick was the son of Patrick and Marie (McDonough) Whalen. He attended schools in Hoosick Falls and was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Dick maintained a friendship with many local veterans on a weekly basis. Formerly, he was employed at Zak Incorporated in Troy, NY, and retired from Flomatic Valve Company in North Hoosick, NY. Dick was currently a Judge for the Town of Hoosick, a position he had held for many years. He was also the Assessor for the Village of Hoosick Falls, a member of the Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation Board of Directors and a member of the Kiwanis Club in Hoosick Falls. His hobbies included watching Fox News, golfing, fishing, Saratoga Race Track and delivering donuts to friends around the Village.
Survivors, other than his wife Joyce, include their son, Kevin Whalen of Hoosick Falls, a sister-in-law, Kay and husband Jack Powers, brothers-in-law, John and wife Irene McCarty and Bill and wife Dayle McCarty, special life-long friends, Gail and Don Morin, and nieces and nephews, Kelly, Matt, Cindy, Diane, Rosemary, Owen, Taylor and Travis. Dick is pre-deceased by a sister-in-law, Elaine Henry.
A Mass of Christian Burial was offered on Monday, February 9, at 11 am from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Grace Rosekrans
New Lebanon – Grace Rosekrans of New Lebanon, NY, and Melbourne Place, Pittsfield, MA, went peacefully home to be with her Lord on Friday, February 6, 2015, just one month shy of her 94th birthday. The daughter of Charles and Barbara Reimert Schaeffer, she was born and raised on the family farm in New Tripoli, PA.
David J. Morin
Hoosick Falls – David J. Morin 64, passed away on Tuesday January 20, at the Wyoming Community Hospital, in Warsaw, New York. He resided in Sonyea, New York.
David was born on August 21, 1950 in Troy, New York, son of the late George and Elaine (Doney) Morin. David graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Hoosick Falls and formerly worked at Oak Mitsui in Hoosick Falls.
Survivors include his son Sean Morin of Bennington, VT, brothers James Morin of Pownal, VT, Steven and his wife Margaret Morin of New Hampshire and Ronald and his wife Helen Morin of California.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday February 7, at 11 am at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Hoosick Falls, New York. Arrangements are under the care of the Mahar Funeral Home, 43 Main Street in Hoosick Falls, New York. Memorial contributions may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation through the funeral home.
Freddie Bouplon
Hoosick Falls – Freddie Bouplon, 71, passed away peacefully at his home after being diagnosed with mesothelioma in May of 2014. Nothing was more important to him than his wife, Barbara Ann (Powers) Bouplon. They celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary on July 3, 2014, with their children and grandchildren, at Hedges Lake.
Joseph J. Cullen
Hoosick Falls – Joseph J. Cullen, 96, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2015, at the Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls, NY, surrounded by his family. He had resided on River Street with his wife Delight (Hogan) Cullen.
Born on December 31, 1918, Joe was the son of Thomas and Anna (Evers) Cullen. He attended St. Mary’s Academy. Joe was a veteran of the United States Army serving during World War II with the 5th Combat Cargo Squadron and receiving the rank of Technical Sergeant. He was very active in the community of Hoosick Falls serving as President of the St Mary’s Academy Booster Club and the Hoosick Falls Little League. He was a member of the Elks, the Derby Club and the St. Mary’s Alumni. Joe worked at the former Wood Flong Corporation, the Hoosick Falls Community Center for thirty-five years, the Village Liquor Store and the OTB Parlor for twenty years. He was a communicant of the Immaculate Conception Church.
Survivors other than his wife Delight include their children, Elizabeth “Betse” Cullen and Robert Alexander of Albany, NY, Kevin and wife Cindy Cullen of Niskayuna, NY, and M. Patrice and husband Joe Zedalis of Hoosick Falls, grandchildren, Caleb and Kady Cullen, Kallyn Alexander and Conner and Payton Zedalis, and several nieces and nephews. Joe is pre-deceased by four sisters, Mary Hennessy, Anna Milliman, Katherine Onley and Margaret Sears, and three brothers, John, Thomas and Louis Cullen.
A Mass of Christian Burial is on Friday, January 30, at 10 am from the Immaculate Conception Church on Main Street in Hoosick Falls. Committal services will be at 12:30 pm at the Gerald B.H. Solomon/Saratoga National Cemetery in Schuylerville, NY.

Hoosick Falls – Jerold “Jerry” A. Strait, 69, passed away peacefully at his residence after a brief battle with cancer on Friday, January 23, 2015, surrounded by his loving family. Born in Hoosick Falls, NY, he is the son of the late Ruth and Ralph Strait.
David Jacobs
Hancock – Mr. David Jacobs, 91, of 181 Goodrich Hollow Road, Hancock, MA, died Sunday afternoon, January 25, 2015, at the Mt. Greylock Extended Care Facility following a long illness. Born in Queens, NY, on November 20, 1923, he was the son of Robert and Etta Waldman Jacobs. He was educated in schools there and was a graduate of City College of New York.
