The Petersburgh Town Board held an executive session for an hour before its regular meeting on January 18, in which they interviewed two applicants for the position of Building Inspector. The Board appointed David Miller to the position when they began the regular Town Board meeting. Motocross Track Issue Has Not Gone Away

At Stephentown’s first regular Town Board meeting of the year, Monday, January 18, newly elected Councilman Gerry Robinson reported that he had completed 2½ days of training for newly elected officials sponsored by the NYS Association of Towns. Robinson said the training, presented by staff from both the Association of Towns and the State Comptroller’s Office, covered the various responsibilities of officials, concentrating in particular on issues surrounding land use planning and zoning. “It was very helpful,” he said. “I feel I have a good background now.”

Water Contamination Issue Draws Residents To Meeting, Mayor And Trustees Get On With Regular Village Business

The Municipal Building meeting room was packed to overflowing for the monthly Village Board meeting on Tuesday, January 12. Again, it was the Village water issue that drew people to the meeting. Mayor David Borge officially announced that a temporary Granulated Activated Carbon (GAC) will be installed at the HF water plant very soon. There is about a two-week delivery time, and it takes about three weeks to install. There will be at least a week of sampling and testing.
