Two Petersburgh Girls Who Are Miss Olivia’s Ballet Students Dance In Professional Nutcracker

Two students from the British School of Ballet in Hoosick Falls auditioned for parts in the Christmas ballet The Nutcracker. Both girls received parts. Over 200 students from different ballet schools auditioned and about 40 students were chosen. Nine year old Adriana Hendricks from Petersburgh will be an angel and six year old Alexandra Bull will be a Polichinello.

HFCS Presents “And Then There Were None”

The Hoosick Falls Central School Drama Club has been rehearsing for the past seven weeks. This week rehearsals are very long as the cast and crew count down to the opening night performance Friday. The cast of Agatha Christie’s And Then There Were None feels they are already ahead of schedule. “We’re ready,” they said at a get-together on Monday. Hoosick Falls – Nancy A. McCabe, 77, passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2012, at the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center in Bennington, VT. She had resided on Elm Street in Hoosick Falls, NY, and was the wife of the late Loren E. McCabe, who died in 1993.
Born on March 7, 1935, in Hoosick Falls, Nancy was the daughter of the late Edwin and Florence (Callahan) Webster. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1952. Nancy was formerly employed at Isola Industries in Hoosick Falls, Hemmings Motor News in Bennington and, currently, at HAYC3 in Hoosick Falls. She enjoyed annual vacations to York Beach with her family.

Kenneth A. Burns Sr.

Hoosick Falls – Kenneth A. Burns Sr., 93, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2012, at the Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Hoosick Falls, NY. He was the husband of the late Marjorie Burns.
Born on May 16, 1919, in Troy, NY, Kenneth was the son of the late Timothy and Genieve (Estabrook) Burns. He was educated at Walter A. Wood High School in Hoosick Falls and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Philippines. Kenneth worked at the Gold Meadow Creamery in Buskirk, NY, the family farm and was a custodian at Hoosick Falls Central School until retiring. Kenneth enjoyed going to the Sunday breakfasts at the local firehouses.

Born in Lawrence, MA, on July 27, 1941, Bill was the son of the late Ruth and Henry Nason of West Boxford, MA. He was educated in West Boxford schools and was a graduate of Johnson High in North Andover, MA. Panthers Outduel O’Neill Raiders And Go To State Title Game In Syracuse

To say the Hoosick Falls Panthers played poorly in the first quarter of last Saturday’s semi-final game would be an understatement. To say they kicked some butt for the final two and one-half quarters would be the same.
The O’Neill Raiders kicked off to the Panthers to start the game. The Panthers ran three plays, losing 7 yards, then punted the ball to the Raiders. With the ball at their 37 yard line, the Raider offense came on the field and took over, literally. On their first play from scrimmage their star running back ran through the Panther defense for a 63 yard TD. Some Panthers got in a wave to him as he ran by, but for the most part he was unchallenged. The PAT was good, and O’Neill was up by 7 less than a minute into the game.
