To the Editor:
I’m writing with regards to your article, “Berlin Town Board Action – The Rest Of The Story” (August 26). Included in the notes from that meeting were a few words from Town Supervisor Rob Jaeger regarding Our Valley Community Farmers’ Market, located on Brimmer Farm Road in Berlin. First, I thank Mr. Jaeger for his continued support of this project, both by spreading the word and through his patronage. I do, however, think it’s important to address two unintended mistakes made by Mr. Jaeger during the Board meeting.

Letter To The Editor – Does it Make Cent$?
To the Editor:
Many Grafton residents are not aware there are plans to address the exterior of the Town post office, which is in a state of disrepair. At a recent Town Board meeting our Supervisor announced plans to re-side the building with an attractive composite siding. To install this product, it was stated, the existing clapboard siding would have to be removed, then the new siding installed. There are plans to hire a competent contractor as a temporary Town employee to preform the work therefore avoiding the need to pay “prevailing wage,” a significant savings to the taxpayers providing labor hours are carefully controlled.

Letter To The Editor – EAB Up Close And Personal
To the Editor:
After traveling through central, northern Ohio to visit my father, I can tell you that the EAB, or emerald ash borer beetle, is very real. The amount of damage to the ash tree population was visible from the Rochester area of NY to my destination, Findlay Ohio. In Findlay, the effect was so acute that literally every ash tree was either dead or dying.

Letter To The Editor – Flying With The Eagles
Editor,
The Fraternal Order of Eagles has long been an organization built on liberty, truth, justice and equality, striving to make the lives of American and Canadian citizens better every step of the way. Never were those beliefs more clear than on August 14, 1935.
As President Franklin Delano Roosevelt’s pen graced the pages of the Social Security Act, allowing government assistance to the elderly for the first time, the mission of the Eagles became more than just a goal. It became a reality.

Letter To The Editor – Grafton Tarnished?
To the Editor:
Approximately 15 years ago I moved to the town of Grafton. I found the town officials to be helpful, welcoming, supportive and knowledgeable. However recently it seems that all good things must come to an end. [Read more…] about Letter To The Editor – Grafton Tarnished?
Letter To The Editor – Answering A True Misrepresentation Of The Facts
To the Editor:
This is in response to Micky Atwater’s letter in last week’s edition of the Eastwick Press. Much of the letter misrepresented the facts and was based on the belief that information regarding the problems with petitions should not have been shared with Mr. Zlotnick. BCS Art Show
To the Editor:
Last week I had the opportunity to visit the Berlin Middle School/High School. The entryway and hallways were lined with incredible works of art. There were unique album covers, photographs, drawings, marketing pieces and portraits that were very impressive. [Read more…] about BCS Art Show
Letter To The Editor – Legal Doesn’t Mean Right
To the Editor:
At recent Grafton Town Board meetings (not the most recent however) there has been much mention of conflicts within our Town government. Some members of the Town Board have publicly dismissed these concerns as political grandstanding or characterized those voicing concerns as political operatives.

Letter To The Editor – Volunteerism In Berlin
To the Editor:
Due to the generosity and kindness of many people, the flower barrels in Berlin are placed and planted. Jim Winn and his crew, having stored the barrels all winter, placed them around town, Mara Murphy and Phil Riccardi donated all the flowers and Pastor Matt and Ellen Olson and many neighbors living near the barrels have volunteered to water and maintain them. Also thanks to Lou Goodermote for getting me some soil to fill the barrel at the post office in Cherry Plain. It takes a community…..

Letter To The Editor – Opinions
To the Editor:
I am a BCS alumna. I have a master’s degree. I am a Berlin taxpayer. I am the mother of a BES student. I am a BHS teacher. It is in this complex capacity that I write today in order to address two concerns: the editorialized straight news articles and the unqualified and unquantified statements made in a recent letter to the editor.
