Berlin Library Pie Sale

On November 21 the Berlin Free Town Library will hold its third annual Thanksgiving Pie Sale.  Pies will be available for purchase at the Berlin branch of Bank of America on Wednesday, November 21, from 10 am to 2 pm. Sally Ann Gutermuth

Berlin – Sally Ann Gutermuth, 56, passed away on June 5, 2012. Sally was born October 22, 1955, to William D. Gutermuth and Lady Ricker Rucinski in Troy, NY. She grew up in Berlin and graduated from the Emma Willard School in Troy. She continued her studies in California in modern dance and music. Sally was a talented modern dancer, musician and artist, living a simple, happy and fruitful life.

Cherry Plain Cell Tower – Can You Hear Me Now?

Two and a half years after the Berlin Zoning Board cleared the way for a cell tower in Cherry Plain residents and travelers are finally getting a signal from that tower. The tower remained bereft of any antenna for a year and a half until Verizon finally installed their equipment this past summer. Chris Ciolfi of Mariner Towers LLC, who put the structure up back in late 2010, said he had heard that Verizon had recently activated their antenna. He did not know why it took so long, but he believed that cell phone reception along the Route 22 corridor should now be “dramatically improved.”

Stephentown Town Supervisor Larry Eckhardt reported on Tuesday that according to a NYSEG official Stephentown was near the top of the list in Rensselaer County for power outages. Fatal Car Accident In Berlin

A fatal accident occurred in the Town of Berlin early Tuesday morning as the effects of Hurricane Sandy were beginning to subside here. Berlin Fire Department Breakfast

On Sunday, November 4, from 7 to 11 am, the Berlin Fire Department will be holding its fresh, hot off the griddle monthly breakfast. For your eating pleasure we include all-you-can-eat pancakes, French toast, biscuits for our homemade sausage gravy, sausage and bacon, toast, home fries and eggs (scrambled, sunny side, over easy or over hard). Beverage choices include coffee, tea (both decaf available), hot chocolate, milk and orange juice. The cost is $7 for adults, $4 for kids 5-10 and free for kids under 5.
Please join us before church, grocery run or what you are doing for the day and have a great start to the morning.
