Youth 2 Youth Offers Valuable Raffle Prize

Youth 2 Youth Berlin is collaborating with the Bridgeway Restaurant to plan a Teen Night for Friday, May 18, from 6 to 9 pm at the Bridgeway Ballroom in Cherry Plain. There will be a DJ, contests, games, prizes, raffles and more.

• May 20, Sunday – Great Strides for Cystic Fibrosis. Registration for this 1km fundraising walk begins at 11 am. For more information about the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation and the event, please call CFF at 783-7361.
• May 20, Sunday – Trail Work Day at Cherry Plain State Park from 9 am to 12 pm. Join the Friends of Cherry Plain State Park for a morning in the outdoors getting the Park and the surrounding DEC Wildlife Management Area’s trails ready for a summer of visitors.

Youth 2 Youth Berlin Teen Night

Youth 2 Youth Berlin is collaborating with the Bridgeway Restaurant to plan a Teen Night for Friday, May 18, from 6 to 9 pm at the Bridgeway Ballroom in Cherry Plain. There will be a DJ, contests, games, prizes, raffles and more.
Tickets cost $3 in advance, $5 at the door. The ticket price includes a slice of pizza and a cup of soda. Additional snacks can be purchased.
Tickets can be purchased through the Y2Y Berlin Group, Biffy Cahill, the Main Office at the Berlin Middle/High School and the Stephentown Memorial Library.

A brewery on Bly Hollow Road in Cherry Plain? Seems unlikely. The unlikely brewer, however, is Dr. Jonathan Post, and he’s not just a brewer but a Beer Diviner. Post has indeed recently opened his Bly Hollow Brewery for business and is now selling his products at local stores, including the Cherry Plain Pantry.

Late in 1919 a group of civic-minded men, led by Marvin Foster, worked long and diligently to organize and equip a fire department in Poestenkill. Child Left On School Bus

A three year old child supposed to be attending Capital District Beginnings preschool in Berlin on Monday, April 16, was instead left on a bus alone for three hours. New York State Police reported that the bus, owned by Northland Transportation, dropped several students off at Capital District Beginnings in Berlin at approximately 9 am.  The child did not get off the bus and was not noticed by the driver or monitor.  [Read more…] about Child Left On School Bus

Hunter Education Course In Berlin

A hunter education class sponsored by the Rensselaer County Sportsman Education Program will be offered at the Berlin Rod and Gun Club on Plank Road in Berlin on Monday, April 30, from 6:30 to 7:30 pm, Friday, May 4, from 6:30 to 9:30 pm and Saturday, May 5, from 8 am to 4:30 pm. All three sessions must be attended and students must demonstrate proper attitude and safety and pass the test. This course is free, but you must pre-register by calling Rob at 518-573-4261.
