Thank God For Bly Hollow Road
At one point the only way in or out of Town was Bly Hollow Road to Taborton Road over the hill. Ivan Wager, the architect of Berlin’s Disaster Plan said, “Thank God For Bly Hollow Road; it held up. It was the only way I could get home after 15 hours at the [County] Emergency Operations Center.”

Bright colors and flowers are among the subjects of paintings to be on display at the Berlin Free Town Library. The artwork by Crescenza (Grace) Zema of Stephentown is on exhibit through November 12. Her paintings reflect a love of nature and wildlife, and, although winter is on the way, the viewer will see more of springtime in much of what she has painted.
This mostly self-taught artist did study briefly with fellow painter Lee Blum of Waccabuc, NY. She has previously shown in various other libraries and galleries in the State. To contact Grace and see more of her paintings, call 518-733-5868.

October 21, 2011 By eastwickpress

by Kieron Kramer
There were only four Berlin Town Board Members at the Town Board meeting on Thursday, October 13. Jim Saunders was not present because he had resigned from the Board at the Workshop meeting held in late September. He had appeared at the workshop, handed over his letter of resignation before the meeting started and left, according to Town Supervisor Rob Jaeger. Saunders had served on the Board since being elected in 2005 and still had two years to serve on his present term. No reason for Saunders’ resignation was given. After announcing the news at Thursday’s meeting Jaeger said, “We thank James for his time and effort to be on the Board; not everyone always agrees, but it is a big commitment to be on the Board.”
