Lucas A. Klein completed his Ph.D. magna cum laude from the California School of Professional Psychology at Alliant International University, San Diego, CA. In August, 2011, he successfully defended his dissertation on assessment psychometrics, which was entitled “The Relationship between Interpersonal Capacity Data on the Personality Assessment Inventory, the Rorschach, and the Quality of Object Relations Scale: A Validity Study.” Lucas was awarded his doctoral degree on September 12, 2011. His pre-doctoral field training included work with chronic mental illness, college counseling, adolescent psychotherapy, private practice psychodynamic therapy and neurocognitive/personality assessment. Petesburgh/Berlin – Stephen Michael Walters, 56, went home to Jesus on September 24, 2011, in Ardmore, OK. He was born January 23, 1955, in Troy, NY, to Harold Henry and Violet May (Kaiser) Walters. Historic Berlin Company Sold – W.J. Cowee’s Assets Bought By Georgia Group

W.J. Cowee LLC, the world’s leading manufacturer of wooden floral picks and plant stakes, has announced the sale of most of its assets to the Garcia Group, Inc. of Atlanta, Georgia.
According to Cowee President and CEO Brian E. Suslak, almost all of the company assets have now been sold to a number of strategic buyers, with the majority of them being sold to the Garcia Group. The Garcia Group will continue to market all of the W.J. Cowee products, including floral picks, plant stakes and Designer Stones. Cowee has now ceased production, and most of the employees have been laid off with only a few still carrying out office functions.

A fresh Maine lobster dinner will be served at the Berlin Firehouse on Saturday, October 15, from 6 to 8 pm. Take-outs are available from 4:30 to 5:30 pm.
The dinner includes your choice of one single lobster dinner at $19 or a twin lobster dinner for $27 with melted butter and salad, roll, baked potato, ice cream and beverage.

Letter To The Editor – Dumping Trash Leads To Personal Tragedy
Dear Editor,
We have a neighborhood problem that is getting worse. Someone has been dumping trash and garbage at various spots in the village. One spot is near the Berlin Library. Everybody is heartily sick of this mess. Mr. Jaeger, our Town Supervisor, has not had time to do anything. The Health Department has been helpful but cannot act until some legal actions are possible. I have called the Code Enforcement Officer, Allan Yerton, but he has not called back yet.
Two days ago our valiant little cat, Violet, fought a rat that the garbage brought on. The vet said she suffered from severe rat bites. She died this morning. We are heartbroken.
