The manner in which the Berlin Town Board conducts itself and determines that my community is too ignorant to know what we want or what the implications will be down the road is truly a disgrace. Berlin is the laughing stock of neighboring towns and villages.

Nikky Killeen Inducted Into The National Honor Society
Nikky Killeen, 2007 Berlin High School graduate, was inducted into the National Honor Society in Psychology, Psi Chi, at Sage College on March 27. Research grants and scholarships are made available to members of Psi Chi. You must be in the top 35% of your class and have an overall GPA of 3.0 to be inducted into Psi Chi.
Nikky is the daughter of Kim and Mark Killeen of East Poestenkill.

Berlin – Richard C. von Schilgen of Berlin, NY, passed away after a brief illness on Thursday, March 24, 2011, at the Albany Medical Center in Albany, NY. Born on October 14, 1953, in New Rochelle, NY, he spent much of his childhood in Bronxville, NY. His parents, Anne and Robert von Schilgen, moved their family home to Petersburgh, NY, when he was fifteen years old.

Maple Sugaring Weekend In Berlin

Scattered among the purple mountains of Berlin, Kent Goodermote and Todd Hewitt of Kent’s Sugar House have some 900 maple syrup taps dripping sap drop by drop by drop into long plastic tubes spider-webbing down the hillsides toward collectors sitting at the bottom. This is the first part of the journey maple syrup must make from the sugar maple tree to your breakfast table.

LHWA Annual Meeting
The annual meeting of the Little Hoosic Watershed Association will be held on Tuesday, March 29, at 7 pm at the Berlin Seventh Day Baptist Church. The public is welcome. Agenda items include a review of work completed in 2010, an update on projects planned for 2011, a discussion of recent storm damage and elections for the Board of Directors. The Association is currently seeking nominations for new Directors. Current Board members are Tim Allen, Derek Burhans, Len Clapp, Stanton Goodermote, Carl Greene and Claudia Kavenagh.

A Rabies Clinic will be held on Thursday, April 21, at the Berlin Highway Garage on Route 22 in Berlin. All rabies vaccines, dog-DHLPP vaccines and cat-FURCP vaccines cost $10 each; cash only!
