Petersburgh Boy Scout Troop #222 Excels At The Klondike Derby

On January 29 the Boy Scout Mahikan District hosted over 240 scouts at the annual Klondike Derby at Camp Rotary. The Klondike Derby is a hands-on scout adventure where patrols of scouts compete in winter survival and teamwork challenges. Taconic Valley Soccer Sign Up
The Taconic Valley Soccer Club will be holding registration for the following CDYSL teams: U12G, U14Co-Ed, U16G and U19B. Registration will be held at the Berlin Library on February 3, 10 and 17 from 7 to 9 pm and February 5, 12 and 19 from 10 am to 1 pm. Registration can also be done online at www.sportssignup.com/taconicvalley.start. Credit cards are accepted.

Controversial Appointment To The Berlin Town Board

At its regular meeting on January 13 the Berlin Town Board appointed Becky Giumarra to fill the seat vacated by Carl Greene on December 31. Her term will run until December 31 of this year. Giumarra was nominated by Board Member Sheila Hewitt, who along with Board Members James Saunders and Richard von Schilgen voted for her appointment. Town Supervisor Robert Jaeger voted against her appointment.

Valentine Workshop At The Berlin Library
The Berlin Free Town Library will be hosting a Make-Your-Own-Valentine workshop for children of any age. There will be many choices at various skill levels to ensure a good time for all.

Guided Footsteps At The United Methodist Church, Berlin
“Guided Footsteps” is a liturgical dance group from the Emmaus United Methodist Church. This group wants to perform and share their dance ministry in a way that would appeal to all. With the assistance of dedicated adult volunteers, the youth formed the group, scheduled rehearsals and raised funds for uniforms. The youth range in age from 9 to 18 years of age and are a culturally diverse group of young people with a choreographer, Dayshawn Jones, who is a young person dedicated to dance.
