Friends of Kevin, Theresa and Dalton Stevens are hosting a Family Dance on Friday, September 17, from 7 to 11 pm at the Berlin Fire Hall with music provided by Hill Hollow Band. There will be 50/50 and silent auctions. Refreshments will also be for sale. Tickets cost $5 for singles, $8 for couples and $12 for families. Tickets are available at the door. The Schaghticoke Fair was last week. The first few days were really hot, but the weekend was glorious and the weather was perfect for strolling through the exhibits. Some families have been exhibiting at the Fair for 50 years or more. Today their children and grandchildren also show animals, participate in 4-H programs or exhibit crafts and more. Besides the rides, which the young people love, there were plenty of activities and interesting programs for young and old to enjoy and plenty of food to try as well.

Petersburgh-Berlin Scout Troop #222 Builds Trail Kiosk For Cherry Plain State Park

Since April, local Scout Troop #222 has worked during its weekly meetings on the construction of a beautiful trail kiosk for Cherry Plain State Park. On Monday, August 24, the kiosk was officially installed at the trail head of the charcoal kiln trail, which also leads into the expansive Capital District Wildlife Management Area’s (CDWMA) trail system.

New Pastor For Methodist Church
The Berlin and Grafton United Methodist Church is pleased to welcome Pastor Joy Lowenthal as its part time permanent pastor. The appointment was made by Bishop Susan Hassinger of the Troy Conference. Pastor Lowenthal replaces Pastor Kim Kie who has left to pursue her Masters of Divinity Degree at Boston University.
