In the story on the DARE graduation ceremonies at Berlin Elementary School (February 5) we reported that Joann Popov provided a solo trumpet accompaniment to the singing of “We are the Future.” In fact it was Ioann Popov and Michael Zlotnick who provided a trumpet duet. Berlin Library Game Night
The Berlin Free Town Library will sponsor Game Night on Thursday, February 18, from 6:30 to 8:30 pm. Children along with their parents are invited to come share in an evening of fun. There will be a variety of board games available at the Library, or if you have a favorite from home to share, feel free to bring yours along as well.
Join us in sharing an evening without TV or computer games. Light refreshments will be provided.

Berlin Rescue Squad Café
On February 13 the Berlin Rescue Squad will be holding a Hot Dog Charlie Night. From 5 to 7 pm. Dedicated volunteers will be serving these delicious hot dogs to the public. Prices will be 6 dogs for $5 or a baker’s dozen for $10. We will also have soda and water available for purchase at $1 each. There will also be chili available for sale.

Berlin Elementary DARE Program

Sixty-seven fifth graders at Berlin Elementary School received their diplomas from the DARE Program on Friday, January 29. D.A.R.E. (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) is a series of classroom lessons that teaches children from kindergarten through twelfth grade how to resist peer pressure and live productive drug and violence-free lives. The lessons are led by a law enforcement officer – in Rensselaer County by Sheriff’s Deputy Jim Phelps.

Girl Scout Troop 1752 Help Haiti
Members of Girl Scout Troop 1752 put their girl scout pledge to work…….”to help other people at all times.” The girls wanted to help the earthquake victims in Haiti. Register This Month For The Taconic Valley Soccer Club
The Taconic Valley Soccer Club will be holding CDYSL registrations at the Berlin Library four times in the month of February. Dean Maxon will be at the Library from 7 to 9 pm on Thursday nights, February 11 and 18, and Saturday mornings, February the 13 and 20, from 10 am to 12 pm.
You can register on your own before February 23 on line. Payment cannot be made on line but can be sent to the address listed on line. Payment must be made by February 28 for players to hold a spot on the team.
