CSEA And The Town Of Berlin Reach An Agreement For 2016

The union representing the Town of Berlin’s highway department employees and the Town have signed a memorandum of understanding that provides each employee with a $300 stipend for the year 2016. The Town and the union will continue to work under the current contract, with both parties agreeing to re-open negotiations for a new contract in August. Town Supervisor Rob Jaeger tells The Eastwick Press he thinks it’s a good deal, it gives the employees something for this year while they continue talks on a new contract, and it fits within the Town’s budget. Local Students Named To Dean’s List And President’s List at Hudson Valley Community College
More than 1,1000 students were recently named to the Dean’s List for the spring 2016 term at Hudson Valley Community College. Each fall and spring term, the college’s Deans’ List honors those students who have a term grade point average between 3.0 and 3.5.

Thursday May 26 at the workshop meeting of the Berlin Town Board, CEO of the SAFE Holding Company Michael Pasternak laid out his company’s plans to collaborate with Green Renewable and two other firms on a major production facility that will produce fuel oil from wood and generate electricity. The four companies will remain their own separate entities, each making their own product, but there are important synergies to having them all work closely together on the same campus.
