All rabies vaccines, dog-DHLPP vaccines and cat-FURCP vaccines cost $10 each; cash only! Cats will be treated from 6 to 7 pm, dogs from 7 to 8 pm. No appointment is needed. Berlin Town Board Action – Offer To Buy The Cherry Plain Polling Place Accepted

Berlin Town Supervisor Rob Jaeger announced at the Berlin Town Board meeting on Thursday, September 12, that he had received a signed offer and a $1,000 deposit for the Cherry Plain Polling Place. The Polling Place, at 110 Cherry Plain Square, had been appraised at $10,000 and that was the offer made by Cherry Plain residents Gary and Marie Hoffman. Fatal Fire On Plank Road
Yvonne Keefe, spokesperson for the Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office, reported that the Sheriff’s Office responded to a fatal house fire on Plank Road at approximately 10:10 pm on Sunday night, September 15. Fire Departments from Poestenkill, Wynantskill, Eagle Mills and Mt. View responded. Investigators from the Rensselaer County Fire Investigation Unit have determined the fire to be accidental.
Officials found the body of Devin Hover, age 29, in the home that was destroyed by the fire last night. The parents, John Hover and Georgia Hover, also in the home were transported to Albany Medical Center for treatment.
Berlin Rescue Squad Café
On Friday, September 20, the Berlin Rescue Squad will be holding its monthly delicious Fish Fry Dinner. For $10 you can come enjoy a hearty helping of fried cod on a roll, french fries, coleslaw, a brownie and soda or water. Eat in or take out, its up to you. Berlin – Linda J. Nugent, 70, of Taylor Avenue, Berlin, NY, died on Friday, September 13, 2013, at the Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, MA.

Taconic Valley Historical Society Discusses The Taconic Trail
The topic of the September 16 meeting of the Taconic Valley Historical Society will be the Taconic Trail. Sharon Klein, Berlin Town Historian, will give a presentation on the construction and history of the trail. The meeting will be held at the Methodist Church, South Main Street, Berlin, at 7:30 pm. The program is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served.

The Berlin Rescue Squad desperately needs volunteers – both EMTs and drivers. To continue to provide services to our community, we need to grow our pool of volunteers. All course materials are paid for and mileage for training is reimbursed upon successful completion of training.
