Grafton VFD And Ladies Auxiliary Breakfast

The Grafton Volunteer Fire Department along with the Grafton Ladies Auxiliary will be holding an All You Can Eat Buffet Breakfast on Saturday, January 26, from 8 to 11 am at the Grafton VFW – Fire Hall on South Road (County Route 85).
Belgian waffles, pancakes, French toast, eggs (made to order), sausage gravy & biscuits, bacon, sausage, home fries, toast, orange juice, coffee and milk are on the menu. The cost is $8 per adult, $4 for kids 12 and under and free for kids five and under.

Memoir Writing Workshop At The Brunswick Library

The Brunswick Community Library is thrilled to present a four session memoir writing workshop in January. The workshop will be led by Susannah Risley, author and teacher of creative non-fiction. The sessions will be held on four Saturdays in January, the 5th, 12th, 19th and 26th, at 1 pm. To sign up, please stop by, email or call the Library at 279-4023, library@brunswicklibrary.org.

Grafton Lakes State Park To Hold 28th Annual Winter Festival

Grafton Lakes State Park and the Friends of Grafton Lakes State Park will host the 28th Annual Winter Festival and Ice Fishing Contest on Saturday, January 19. The Winter Fest will feature winter exhibits, vendors, and family-friendly and recreational activities. The Winter Fest is free of charge and main events run from 10 am to 4 pm.

Grafton Planning Board Action – Last Complete Survey In 1794

There were no public hearings scheduled before the regular Grafton Planning Board on Monday, December 17, so after the Pledge of Allegiance, roll call and the acceptance of the minutes of the previous meeting, the Board moved immediately to the subdivision application of Wes Vars. Vars wants to sell to his son Joe a five acre parcel from his 96 or so acres at the top of the hill on Snyder Road.

A Petition Opposed To Acquiring GES Is Presented At The Grafton Meeting

At the Grafton Town Board meeting on December 10, Councilman Rick Ungaro presented to his fellow Board members a petition signed, by his count, by 627 residents of the Town of Grafton, asking the Board not to buy the Grafton Elementary School.
Supervisor Ray Darling accepted the petition and said he and the Board would “take it under advisement.”

Post Office Hours In Berlin, Grafton and Cherry Plain To Be Cut Back – But Not Right Away

As reported in this paper last week, the Petersburgh Post Office, as part of a cost-cutting review of local post offices will have its window hours cut by 15 minutes. This is not a very big change for Petersburgh customers, but what about other post offices in the area?

Santa Claus Is Coming To Grafton

Santa will be visiting children at the Festival of Trees on Sunday, December 16, from noon to 1 pm at the Everett Wagar Senior Center. The visit is in conjunction with the open house for the Festival on that date at the Center. Children and their parents are encouraged to pay Santa a visit.  The open house is from 10 am to 2 pm and is free. The public is warmly invited to attend.
