Letters To The Editor – I Apologize
To the Editor:
During the BOE meeting last week I made statements that went against principles that I have been attempting to embrace for many years. The principle is to not let the negative actions of a few overshadow the positive actions of the majority.
My frustration with many of the challenges we face as a [School] Board presently related to the education of the children in this District affected my objectivity to the extent that I let the actions of a few overshadow the many positive actions of the majority.
To the majority of the staff of this District who do their best every day to help and educate the children of this District I apologize. Thanks for all you do!
Sincerely,
John Nash
BCS School Board Member
Letter To The Editor – Put It On The Market
To the editor:
Why is the Berlin Central School District so intent on “selling” the former Grafton Grade School to the Town for $1?
In the opinion of most folks it would make far greater sense to put the property on the market and generate a nice chunk of change for the District, which is forever struggling financially, in spite of the ever increasing, very high per pupil cost to taxpayers for a dwindling student population.

Grafton Planning Board Action – Two And A Half Men
by Kieron Kramer
What if you called a meeting and nobody came? You’d call it the November Grafton Planning Board meeting and go home to watch television. At least that’s what the four men of the Planning Board said they were going to do. Planning Board Member Owen Grandjean seems partial to the show “Two and a Half Men.”
The Board approved the minutes of the September and October meetings and hearings unanimously. Board Member Arthur Surprise was absent. There was no new business, no old business and no informal discussion. Even Bill Darling wasn’t there. Only three people were in attendance – two were friends and family of the Board, one was a gent who came to meet someone.
