November 16, 2012 By eastwickpress

Petition Asks Town Board To Reconsider
by Alex Brooks
At the Town Board meeting on Monday, November 12, Town Supervisor Ray Darling said he went to the Berlin Central School and met with Schools Superintendent Dr. Young and some of the School Board members, but he came away with the same misgivings about the building that he had before.
A few minutes later Councilman Rick Ungaro offered a resolution declining the School Board’s offer to sell the building to the Town for $1, and it passed unanimously.

Grafton Gun Range Shot Down

October 26, 2012 By eastwickpress

by Kieron Kramer
Even before the public hearings that were to precede the Grafton Planning Board on Thursday, the Town’s hired guns, Engineer Russ Reeves and attorney for the Town Sal Ferlazzo, did a complete about face on the issue of the site plan application for Les McDermott’s shooting range at the end of Old Siek Road. With complete certainty and full vigor, both professionals recommended to the Planning Board that McDermott’s application be denied.
Before the hearings Reeves summarized his latest letter, which was received by the Planning Board just before the meeting. [Read more…] about Grafton Gun Range Shot Down

Letter To The Editor – A Grafton Democrat Official Weighs In

October 26, 2012 By eastwickpress

To the people of Grafton:
After reading this week’s Eastwick Press, I feel I’m compelled to respond. First let me introduce myself. My name is Bill Middleton, and as well as being a resident of Grafton, I’m also the Democratic Chairman.
Last year we ran a campaign which included a platform of changes which we felt were in keeping with the wishes of the residents of Grafton. I believe this platform was the reason the residents of Grafton elected this board. For the first time, since I can remember, the board is not just rubber stamping the agenda. But are questioning it.

Letter To The Editor – A Grafton Democrat Official Weighs In

October 26, 2012 By eastwickpress

A letter to the Editor of the Eastwick Press:
I wish to express my strong concerns as to the journalist standards observed by Mr. Kramer in his article on the Grafton Town Board meeting of late. While correctly reporting on some of the substance of the meeting, this article is filled with numerous instances of personnel reflections on what should or should not have taken place, as well as criticism of the actions of the board. These reflections and criticisms have no place in the body of an article that purports to be an accurate description of the meeting. And this is not the first time I have found fault with Mr. Kramer’s reporting.  He has a propensity to editorialize throughout his articles.
