There will be a breast cancer fundraiser for Cathy Raymond Kopa on April 27 from 4 to 7 pm at the Brunswick Elks Club on Brunswick Road.
A ziti and meatball dinner costs $8 for adults, $5 for kids 12 and under and free for children 3 and under. There will be a Chinese auction and a silent auction. Items to be auctioned include a gas grill, a 42″ TV, a kindle, a Keurig coffee maker and lots more great gifts. For more information, call Loretta at 279-1014.

Grafton Town Board Report Correction
The Grafton Ambulance report in the Town Board meeting report in the March 16 Eastwick said that Beth Wagar had resigned from the Squad, which is not correct. She sent a letter saying that she could no longer respond to calls either as a driver or EMT, but she remains an auxiliary member and will continue to go to all meetings and stay involved.
Spring Break Wildlife Programs At GLSP
Why does the bluebird sing? Where does the brook trout like to swim? These and many other exciting questions will be answered during Grafton Lakes State Park Spring Break programs. The Trout Discovery and Stocking program is on April 10, Bluebirds with Bob is on April 13 and Habitat in a Jar will be offered on April 14.

Grafton Planning Board Action – Horseback Riding In Grafton

At the Grafton Planning Board meeting on Monday, March 19, a site plan was filed by Richard Lundy for the Board to review. Lundy wants to start a horseback riding business on Kautz Hollow Road. He said there will be a one mile riding trail loop over 135 acres. Most of his property, including his house, is in Pittstown, but the barn, from which the horseback riding business will be run and where the horses are stabled, is in Grafton. Withcuskey said he would contact Pittstown to apprise them of the site plan review and that Grafton will be the lead agency in the review. No problems are expected.

Circus History In Poestenkill
The Poestenkill Historical Society will hold its March meeting on Tuesday, March 27, at 7 pm at the Poestenkill Town Hall, 38 Davies Drive off Rt. 351, Poestenkill. This month’s program will be “The History Of The American Circus.” The guest speaker will be Tom Allison. Explore the History of the circus and how it all got started right here in New York State.

Grafton Town Board Action – Disputes Arise

The Grafton Town Board meeting was barely underway when the first dispute began among Town officials.
Town Councilperson Barbara Messenger said she thought Resolution 25 from the organizational meeting, giving the Town Bookkeeper Victoria Nellis emergency authority to sign checks, should be amended because it does not follow the most prudent financial procedures.
