In the caption of the photograph at the top of page 4 of the January 7, 2011 issue, it is reported that the Town of Grafton crew removed the Meneely Bell from the Grafton United Methodist Church. The fact is that not a single member of the crew participated in the bell removal.

Collectibles In Poestenkill
The Poestenkill Historical Society will start the New Year with a program on Collectibles. This is a show and tell evening. You are invited to bring pieces of your favorite collection and talk about your collection and why you started collecting. This program will be held in the Poestenkill Town Hall, Rt. 351, at 7 pm on Tuesday, January 25.

The Grafton Volunteer Fire Department Breakfast
The Grafton Volunteer Fire Department, along with the Grafton Ladies Auxiliary, will be holding an all you can eat buffet breakfast on Saturday, January 29, from 8 to 11 am at the Grafton VFW – Fire Hall on South Road (County Route 85). Belgian waffles, pancakes, French toast, eggs (made to order), bacon, sausage, home fries, toast, orange juice, coffee and milk are on the menu. The cost is $8 per adult, $4 for kids 12 and under and free for kids 5 and under. We look forward to serving you!
Healthy Lifestyle Program
Healthy living is a spiritual and physical way to better living – from the inside out! The program starts Monday, January 17, from 7 to 8:30 pm at the Grafton Baptist Church (back entrance).
The program is free, and ladies of all ages are invited and encouraged to attend. The program will run every Monday at the same time and place.
We will provide support to living a healthy lifestyle – from what you eat to what you think, helping each other each step of the way. On-line and phone support is included.

Grafton Lakes State Park To Hold 26th Annual Winter Festival
Grafton Lakes State Park and the Friends of Grafton Lakes State Park will host the 26th Annual Winter Festival and Ice Fishing Contest on Saturday, January 22, from 10 am to 4 pm. The Winter Fest will feature winter exhibits, vendors, family-friendly and recreational activities. The Winter Fest is free of charge.

Brunswick Book Club
Oprah is reading the Charles Dickens’ classic novel, A Tale of Two Cities, and so are we! Please join us for a discussion of this book on Wednesday, January 26, at 6 pm, at the Brunswick Community Library, 4118 State Rt. 2. The discussion will be led by Marie Venaglia. Brunswick Community Library New Hours
The Brunswick Community Library will have new hours in 2011. They are Monday through Wednesday, 12 to 8 pm, Thursday and Friday, 12 to 6 pm, and Saturday, 10 am to 4 pm.
Our weekly drop-in knitting/crochet/fiber art group will change its meeting time to Thursdays from 12:30 to 2. Our Book and Movie Group will meet on the 3rd and 4th Fridays of the month at 12:30.

Polar Plunge At GLSP
Applications are now being accepted for participants in the Fourth Annual Polar Plunge in Long Pond, Grafton Lakes State Park, as part of the Park’s Winter Fest. The Winter Fest is in its 26th year with events occurring all day, January 22. The plunge happens promptly at 1 pm with check-in beginning at noon.
