Grafton – Timothy L. Blanchard, 66, of Shaver Pond Road, Grafton, NY, died on Friday, December 10, 2010, at home surrounded by his loving family under the care of Community Hospice of Rensselaer County.
Born in Troy, NY, on April 18, 1944, he was the son of Leon and Loretta Rondeau Blanchard. He was the loving husband of the former Lois Denton, whom he married on February 27, 1965, in Troy.

No Breakfast Until January
There will be no breakfast at the Grafton Fire Hall/VFW in December. Our next breakfast will be Saturday, January 29. Have a safe and happy holiday season! We look forward to serving you in 2011.
Brunswick Library December Events
• Make Your Own Felt Ornaments, Saturday, December 11, at 12:30, ages 11 and up. Plus, we’ll have a special guest, Christie Colangione-Badavino, reading from her book, The Santa Clock.
• Decorate Holiday Cookies, Saturday, December 18, at 12:30, all ages are welcome.
• Storytime at 11 am every Saturday.
• Tuesday Night Book Group, December 14, at 7 pm, discussing To the Lighthouse by Virginia Woolf. The book for January is The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo by Stieg Larsson.
• The Book and Movie Group will meet on December 17 at 1 pm to watch and discuss How the Grinch Stole Christmas by Dr. Seuss.
• The Knitting and Needle Arts Group meets every Thursday at 10:30. Beginners are welcome! We have charity projects with donated yarn for your idle hands.
The Library will be closed December 24 and 25 and January 1, 2011.
New Hours
Starting in January our new hours will be Monday through Wednesday, 12 to 8 pm, Thursday and Friday, 12 to 6 pm, and Saturday from 10 am to 4 pm.
Berlin/Grafton United Methodist Churches Become One
At the annual charge conference of the Berlin/Grafton United Methodist Churches on December 5, a vote was passed to combine the congregations into one. The Church’s new name is United Methodist Church and will be in the former Berlin United Methodist Church.

Ukraine Mission Trip Dinner

TRAC Seeks Support
The TRAC (Together Reducing Alcohol and Drugs Coalition) group met Wednesday, November 17, to continue its coalition building and prevention efforts. The need to develop Memorandum of Understanding with local governments and community organizations to ensure that there is a community-wide commitment to drug and alcohol use prevention among teens was discussed. Members will be canvassing local organizations to talk about TRAC, enlist support and explore programs and initiatives that could receive federal funding in the near future.

Grafton Historical Society Meeting And Christmas Celebration
The Grafton Historical Society will hold its December meeting at the Grafton Inn on December 8 at 6 pm.
Come join us for our annual Christmas Celebration. After a business meeting with election and installation of officers we will enjoy great food, fun and interesting company. Please RSVP to Dorothy at 641-9660.
In lieu of a grab bag gift this year, a donation to benefit families in need in Grafton will be collected.

Grafton Tax Increase Is 3.6%

Several pay cuts were included in the budget approved by the Grafton Town Board at its regular meeting on Thursday, November 18. Those reductions and other cuts brought the budget to a 3.6% increase or $11.01 per thousand. When the Board first reviewed the 2011 budget, anticipated increases ranged from 8 to 11%.
