Order a premium bag of bird seed while supporting the programs of the Dyken Pond Environmental Eduction Center. Proceeds from this fund-raiser go towards scholarships for children at the Summer Nature Camp and land protection efforts. Stock up to last the winter!
The last day to order is October 8; pick up is October 16 from 9 am to 12 noon at Capital Agway, 1333 NY 7 in Troy. There is a 10% discount to members on any item at Agway purchased the day of pickup.

Instrument Donations Needed For Berlin Elementary School

At Berlin Elementary School, over 90% of students in fourth and fifth grade are taking instrumental music lessons.  Many students have begun lessons on recorders, an inexpensive plastic flute that helps beginners develop fundamental music skills.  However, due to financial hardships, about 25 students cannot begin lessons on traditional band instruments such as flute, clarinet, saxophone, trumpet, French horn or trombone.

Brunswick Grange Tailgate Sale

On Sunday, October 3, Brunswick Grange will hold a tailgate sale at the Schaghticoke Fairgrounds, Rt. 67 & 40, Schaghticoke, from 8 am to 12:30 pm. Up to 50 vendors will have various varieties of chickens, ducks, geese, pigeons, plants, flowers and other related agricultural items. A donation of $15 per vendor will be charged. Grafton Town Board Action – September 2010

At the regular meeting of the Grafton Town Board on Thursday, September 9, Highway Superintendent Herb Hasbrouck reported that ditching was completed on Babcock Lake Road and Kautz Hollow Road. He reported that 75 percent of the sand needed for winter has been hauled in. Hasbrouck is putting out a bid to rent a large chipper for a day or two to use on Dunham Road. Supervisor Allison Kirchner thanked Hasbrouck for all the work he has done.
